LOKI Season 2 And SECRET INVASION May Be Safe As Disney Limits 2023 Releases

Marvel revealed Phase 5 of the MCU during San Diego Comic-Con last year, and shared six shows that would be appearing on Disney+ during 2023. It now looks as if that number may be dropping to as few as two thanks to Disney limiting the number of shows that will be hitting the small screen this year.

The information was released in response to remarks made by Disney CEO Bob Iger, who stated that the business must become "better at curating" franchise content that is "extraordinarily expensive." Disney was considering releasing the second seasons of Loki, Secret Invasion, What If...?, Ironheart, Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos in 2023. Marvel programming is obviously expensive. Even though series like Echo and Ironheart have already completed production, if these modifications go into effect, insiders claim that Loki and Secret Invasion may be the only ones to survive.

An insider to the company had mentioned, “There is going to be a level of rigor on Marvel and across the entire company. Numbers matter now, and costs are going to be outlined and enforced.”

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, reaffirmed the new course. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly this week, Feige stated that there will be fewer and more spaced-out Disney+ shows, and that the speed at which they're bringing out the Disney+ shows will change.

Where We Left Off With Loki Season 1

At the end of Loki Season 1, Loki and Sylvie make their way to the Citadel at the End of Time, where they meet He Who Remains, the creator of the Time Variance Authority (TVA). He explains that he has been managing the Sacred Timeline and keeping other dangerous timelines at bay, but he is tired and wants to pass on the responsibility to Loki and Sylvie.

He offers them a choice: they can kill him and unleash the multiverse, or they can take over the responsibility of managing the Sacred Timeline. Sylvie decides to kill He Who Remains, but Loki tries to stop her, knowing that the decision will have serious consequences. However, Sylvie succeeds in killing him, and in doing so, she unleashes the multiverse.

The season ends with Loki returning to the TVA, but things have changed. He doesn't know where he is or who he is working with, and he sees a statue of He Who Remains, indicating that the timeline has been altered. The stage is set for the events of Season 2.

What Is The Secret Invasion

In the comic book version of Secret Invasion, published in 2008-2009 the Skrulls have been plotting their invasion for years, and they have infiltrated various organizations and governments. The Skrulls' plan is to take over the planet by replacing key individuals, and they have been successful in doing so without anyone noticing. The storyline follows the efforts of the Marvel heroes to uncover the Skrulls' infiltration and to stop them from taking over the planet.

The storyline involves various Marvel heroes, including the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four, and it reveals that many well-known characters have been replaced by Skrull imposters. The story also explores the moral ambiguity of the situation, as some of the Skrulls are sympathetic characters who are fleeing from a larger threat to their own civilization.

The Secret Invasion storyline had significant ramifications for the Marvel Universe, leading to the formation of a new version of the Avengers and a shift in the balance of power among the different superhero teams. It is expected that the Disney+ series adaptation will feature a similar storyline with some changes and updates to fit into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Well the thing is unless they are going to start massively delaying the movies as well they are still going to have to release these other shows some point soon especially as they do connect to the movies. Also wasn't the point of making Marvel and Star Wars shows to the executives to have content to play on Disney Plus? Like yeah you want to make sure it's still good content and they probably realize people are getting sick of the "extended mini series that play out like overly long films" and re tooling those but they still need to make shows. I mean Disney Plus still needs series that are exclsive to it for people to check out so I don't see any of these shows being shit cnaned like what happened with some DC Projects but rather more better oganized.

Good. Slow this run away train down. Get back to quality over quantity.
