LOKI Season 2 Scheduled To Begin Production Next Month With "Entire Cast" Set To Return

During last night's upfronts, Marvel Studios' chief Kevin Feige revealed that production on the second season of Loki is scheduled to commence in a few weeks, with the "entire cast" set to return.

So far, Loki is the only MCU-set Disney+ series to be given a second season, which isn't much of a surprise when you take its impressive viewing figures into account.

During last night's Disney Upfronts, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed a recent report that the first season of Loki set the record for the most-watched Marvel series on the streaming service, adding that he believes the show's success was down to a “bold swing.”

Feige said he felt the “wild ride paid off,” before announcing that production on Loki's sophomore run is scheduled to begin in a few weeks with Tom Hiddleston and the "entire cast" set to return.

This isn't exactly a massive surprise, of course, but it's nice to have confirmation that the whole gang will be back in action.

The season finale of Loki concluded with Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) following through on her plan to kill "He Who Remains" (Jonathan Majors), splintering the Sacred Timeline and causing the rebirth of The Multiverse in the process. We then saw the God of Mischief (Hiddleston) arrive at what he believed to be the familiar surro9unding of The TVA, only to discover that he'd actually entered a reality ruled over by another Kang Variant.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness scribe Michael Waldron will not return, with Eric Martin, who penned "The Nexus Event" and "For All Time. Always" episodes, taking over as Head Writer.

Shucks. I was hoping none of the cast would return except Mobius and it would just be the Mobius show.

But this is okay too i guess :)

@TheManWithoutFear - I too was hoping Morbius would be the only character in this. We need more Morbius.

This show was the most watched out of all the Disney plus shows. It was a great show. The vocal minority would have you think everyone hates this show🤡

Female Loki? REEEEEEeeeeeeeeee MsheU!!!!!!!!

@AmazingFILMporg - atleast on here I haven't really seen the vocal minority. Think most users put Loki as their favorite of the Disney+ shows.

Not my favorite though (and no, it's not because of MsheU nonsense). I can see why people like, but I was just too preoccupied by getting annoyed by the multiverse rules and mechanics of time travel.

@AmazingFILMporg -

I loved the show.

But at the same time, the MSHEU is a very real thing.

@HulkisHoly - Lol, no it isn't. How fragile and emasculated do you have to be to think this?

@Whaley87 -

Have you not added up all of the female versions of the same heroes?

Kate bishop
She hulk
Ms marvel
Another ms marvel
IronHeart
Shuri possibly being new black panther
Female Loki
Captain Carter
Echo

It’s like every avenger has a female replacement.

Just kind of weird.

There are always more male heroes then female heroes in comics because super heroes are somewhat similar to cops and firefighters or fighters which are all predominantly male desired careers.

Of course there are female cops and ufc fighters (not many fire women. Too much weight).
But the percentage is usually like 70/30 male to female.

Best Marvel Disney+ show by a country mile. Had a story to tell, instead of being some padded out movie precursor. It carves out its own unique space in the MCU which allows it to operate by itself and yet reference the wider universe in a fun and unforced way. And the characters are fantastic too, Loki here honours his previous MCU variant whilst moving forwards in fresh and unexpected ways. Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino are also fantastic additions.

@RafaelTorres - This.

I can say I'm really interested to know where this storyline goes next, and that's A LOT when it comes to these MCU D+ shows.

Terrific! It's still the best of the Disney+ shows in my book. And apparently the most popular, too, by streaming metrics. Can't wait for Season 2! Hope we get more of Kid Loki and Boastful Loki. And, of course, Crocodile Loki.

Great show but Loki became the least interesting aspect of his own show in those final episodes.

I'll probably end up watching this through recaps on YouTube and gifs. Loki and What If...? are the only shows I've not bothered to rewatch, the former mainly because it'd be a bore the second time around.

Yes, I can't wait for the show that ruined every decision made in the mcu in the first three phases to return. I love it when heroes only make meaningful choices because some random guy decided that was for the best.

Love that first season. And I'd love to see Chris Hemsworth to have a cameo scene in this.

Here's hoping that the whole cast includes Jonathan Majors in a more prominent role. One of the best parts of a very solid show. Probably the Disney + show I was the least interested in and it turned out to be the best.
