LOKI Star Owen Wilson Confirms He Will Return As Mobius M. Mobius In Season 2

This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, but Loki star Owen Wilson has confirmed that he will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the upcoming second season of the hit Disney+ series. Check it out.

Mobius M. Mobius is one of those characters from the comic books that no one really cared about before they were brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Owen Wilson certainly managed to make the Time Variance Authority agent his own in Loki, leaving fans fully invested both in his story and the relationship he quickly developed with Tom Hiddleston's God of Mischief.

In the season finale, Mobius watched on as the Sacred Timeline split and restored the Multiverse. Meanwhile, Loki ended up in a reality where Kang the Conqueror ruled the TVA with a Mobius who had no idea who he is. With that, it looks like Wilson will get to explore his character's Variants!

Talking to Wired, the actor confirmed what we pretty much already knew: he'll return for season 2. "Is Owen Wilson coming back to Loki? Um...yes," Wilson responded. "He is coming back to Loki, and I think we're going to begin filming that pretty soon. I had a great time working on Loki. I really enjoyed Tom Hiddleston and all the people on that [show]."

In a separate interview with Pop Culture, Gugu Mbatha-Raw talked more about her return as Judge Renslayer. "You know I can't say anything about Loki. The Marvel police will come along and just take me away. But no, I'm excited that it's happening, and I really love my character. I think she's unexpected and complex. And so, I'm excited to go to some deeper, darker places with her."

We're hoping that Mobius and Renslayer will be reunited, especially after she betrayed him. There's definitely more story to be told there, and Wilson proved himself a standout in the first season primarily down to the way he made us buy into his character's dynamic with both the Judge and Loki.

Loki will likely return to Disney+ sometime in 2023 or 2024.

That's a big Yay!, because their bromance was one of the best things during season 1.

Loki is still the best show of 2021, along with Invincible and Underground Railroad.

@UXASIS - I’d say Loki is the best instalment of Phase 4 so far! Can’t wait for season 2.

Remember when Loki was a scary-ass, diabolical villain who was no joke and put fears into the hearts of even the elder gods?

Good times.

@URCOMMENTSUCKS - He may not be frightening, but he is still the best character who got the most evolving story out of all villains.

@UXASIS - The most inconsistent, maybe, since that guy in Thor 1 and The Avengers was outdoing Hitler in being evil genocidal piece of shit area, but now writers pretend he's a good boy who was misunderstood.

@URCOMMENTSUCKS - I agree that this 360-degree shift is a big BS.

Killing hundreds of people in New York was an unforgiving thing, just as killing Coulson, which Thor shouldn't have forgiven so easily.

@URCOMMENTSUCKS - “good boy” it’s like you didn’t even pay attention to his arc at all and how he changed.

Him and Loki make a pretty interesting duo.

Will proper Loki return too? The one who is an actual villain, and a trickster... not the son of a Frost Giant who feels the cold.

Loved Mobius and Wilson in the show, especially when he was playing opposite Huddleston

It'll be interesting to see them following on from how the finale left things - was the Mobius who didn't recognise Loki at the end a variant, or have the TVA Agents somehow had their memories altered by the changes to the timeline? Does this mean we'll be getting the original Mobius back, or is this new variant, if it is a new variant, replacing him? And if it's the same Mobius, is he going to get his memories back, and if so, how?

The great thing about Loki is that they can do pretty much anything with the show going forward, so I really hope they take advantage of that!

I loved Mobious. But I gotta admit, I've kinda stopped carring so strongly about the jet ski. If we see him on it in season two I'll probably go "aaaaaaaw, his jet ski 😊" where if it had happened last season I would have absolutely lost my shit!!!

People rather see Mobius than Morbius

On a “meta” note, I’m glad to see Owen Wilson getting his groove back. I’ve always been a fan of him going back to “Wedding Crashers” (or possibly before, that’s as far as my mental RAM goes right now). Anyhow, I know that he went through some dark times (admittedly I don’t recall the specifics), but I’m glad to see him come back and earn the status of being an official MCU character (for what ever that is worth, but it seems to be worth a lot these days (despite what “The Academy” thinks)). Anyhow, more of his Morbius is definitely welcomed. He just nailed that role in my opinion.
