LUKE CAGE Set Photos Offer Up A First Look At Erik LaRay Harvey Suited Up As The Villainous Diamondback

Luke Cage will square off with both Diamondback and Cottonmouth in his Netflix series later this year, and now a first look at the former has been revealed. He looks quite a bit different to the comic books...

Not much is known about Luke Cage, but some newly released set photos from the Netflix series put the spotlight on Erik LaRay Harvey as Willis Stryker/Diamondback exchanging blows with Power Man. However, this version of the character dons some sort of helmet and suit in order to square off with the man who has unbreakable skin, and he looks...well, like an Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character!

In the comics, Luke and Willis are friends before the former's girlfriend comes between them and the man who later becomes known as Diamondback sets the hero up and lands him in in prison (where he gains his extraordinary abilities). Assuming the series - which debuts on the online streaming service this September - follows a similar path, that would explain why the two are fighting each other here.

It's thought that Luke Cage's main villain will be their mutual rival Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes (Mahershala Ali), so it's going to be interesting seeing how this clash ends up panning out in the show.
