Netlix has released our first sneak peak at the upcoming second season of Marvel's Luke Cage.

The sports-themed footage shows Mike Colter's super-strong Defender putting on a little show for his adoring fans, as he makes short work of an athletic training course. The clip also features commentary and appearances from Jets coach Todd Bowles and sports personalities Jemele Hill and Michael Smith.

Luke Cage returns to Netflix on June 22, and if you missed the announcement trailer, you can check it out right HERE.

The first half of Luke Cage was good but man did Diamondback suck. He was a power rangers villain in a grounded MCU show.

@JH24 - I remember watching episode five and thinking "This is it. They've finally hit the Heroes for Hire stride and it's perfect."

And then it all fell apart so spectacularly. I don't even think Diamondback was the problem, it just fell into a weird holding pattern. Like six episodes of "yadda yadda".

A lot of the problems I had with the first season felt like "growing pain" stuff. The essence of the show was stellar, it was just pacing and structure and moment-to-moment execution that fell short. If the rumors are true that they hammered out the wrinkles, this season could be something special.

Also Colter just oozes Cage.

I love most the marvel shows and couldn't finish the first season of this, every episode ending with a music video or whatever, wasn't feeling it at all

I'm excited about this one. The actors and show runner actually acknowledge the complaints of season 1. AND that leaker from last year said they killed it this season.

Can he really jump that far and run that fast in these shows? It doesn't really seem like that's the way they're portraying him but I guess it's because he hasn't had to yet. This definitely looks only made for promo. I'll be watching for sure though

this is the first clip we see?? once cottonmouth was finished, so was season 1. it better have a consistently strong season 2 and i know iron fist is not going to help. if this disappoints, i will be sticking to daredevil and punisher exclusively going forward.
