Katee Sackhoff Goes After Role In Powers

Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff was in talks for a role in the Powers tv show back when it was first announced. Now that it's been green lit she is eager to get things moving..

Apparently BSG's Starbuck herself Katee Sackhoff already took meetings last year for the role of Deena Pilgrim in FX's new series based on Brian Michael Bendis‘ comic series Powers.



Well, now that the show has an official green light and casting is due to get underway straight away, Sackhoff has taken to Twitter to announce that she will be following it up..

@Taragel already met on #powers last year! I love it! I’ve just been waiting for a green light to go after it!


Deena Pilgrim is the partner of main character Christian Walker and is a ringer for Sackhoff. No certainty that she will land the role of course, but she sounds like she won't be giving it up without a fight!

Ugh. She annoyed the shit out of me in 24, so I'm officially even less interested in this show now. :P Great find though ROR!

I don't watch 24, but did happen to catch and episode that Baur shot her dead in! I take it she was a baddie?

Josh, check out BSG. She was class as Starbuck.

I've often felt alone in thinking that she was one of the weakest links acting wise in BSG. I thought that Starbuck was a poorly written, overhyped Mary Sue and Katee had a very limited range, which shows in the roles she's played after BSG ended.

yeah i'm intrested in this show,i haven't read the comic book but i've heard its very good.

so can't wait for this to start.

Man I hate Bendis. He ruined the avengers, and I love the avengers.

Man I love Bendis. He saved the Avengers when it was pretty rubbish, and I love the Avengers.

Have you actually read Powers btw? It's brilliant. Some of his best work.

I thought Katee was excellent in season 1 of BSG, but as her character got more and more 'religious' she became more and more of a drag, and by the final season I just wanted to punch her (metaphorically). I mostly blame the writers for that, but still, on the fence about her getting the role.

ROR: Yeah, something along those lines. Shouldnt really blame her too much though as she didnt have the best material to work with at that point. I'll be sure to take a look at some clips of her in BSG though, cheers!

Yeah I like Bendis fine. There are better, there are much worse! I haven't read Powers though I hear great things about it.

I actually preferred Starbuck as she got more introverted and mean and well, nuts! Before that she was ok but kinda a hot shot pilot cliche don't you think? Anyway, I thought Sackhoff gave a great performance right till the end.

Loved her in BSG.

Loved this comic, read it years ago, then quit reading it for some reason. Gonna pick up some trades when I get a chance, comic is very good and I have high hopes that the TV show will be.

That would be pretty sweet! I've been a fan of Katee's since the BSG pilot and a comic book fan for way longer so this in combination will probably stop my poor fangirl heart :)
