SECRET INVASION Casting Call May Hint At The Villain Of Marvel's Upcoming Disney+ Series

As far as we know, Marvel's Secret Invasion is still set to begin shooting later this year, and a new casting call may offer some hints about the show's villain and two supporting characters...

Secret Invasion was announced during Disney's Investors Day last year along with several other planned Disney+ shows, but the small screen adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis' acclaimed comic run might just be the most highly-anticipated of the bunch.

Captain Marvel 2 stars Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Ben Mendelsohn (Talos) will return for the series, which will adapt - on a much smaller scale, presumably - the story of the Skrull invasion of Earth.

We still don't know a whole lot about the series beyond that, but The Illuminerdi has now shared a few details on three supporting roles, including the villain.

Marvel is currently searching for an actor between the ages of 50-60 to play Secret Invasion’s main antagonist, along with an actress between 40-50 years old, whose character will "share many scenes with Jackson’s Nick Fury." There's also a call for "an important supporting role to be played by a younger female actor."

These breakdowns don't reveal very much, but if the show sticks to the source material at all, the villain is most likely going to be Dorrek VII, Emperor of the Skrull Empire. There's also speculation that the younger character might be Abigail Brand, but she's obviously just one of many possibilities.

Secret Invasion is currently set to begin production later this year, so we'll hopefully find out more soon. For now, let us know if you have any theories about these mysterious supporting players down below.

I want to see how this turns out for the future of the MCU

So, they're hiring generically descript actors. Compelling

Least excited for this one. I feel Captain Marvel got a lot wrong about Kree-Skrull stuff but unlike a lot of people, I was fine with Brie Larson.

It was everything around her that I felt didn’t work. Not how I pictured 90s MCU at all and at times played it too safe with the alien stuff. Felt like they were afraid to touch on Kree stuff because of what AOS did. Can’t take Fury seriously anymore because of this movie as well.

I love Ben Mendelssohn as Talos though!

Do you guys think we'll get Hulkling debut in Secret Invasion? We have most of the Young Avengers now.

@ImNotaBot - A while ago I would have said no but there’s too much smoke for there to be no fire with this Young Avengers thing. I think there’s a chance we get Hulkling here and maybe Iron Lad in Ant-man 3 or at least a set up of him

@ImNotaBot - I was thinking Hulkling and Super-Skrull.

@TheDoctor1225 - AB needs to be young. She's supposed to be the diametric opposite of Fury. That's why they specifically age her at 28 during her introduction in the comic. A year or 2 off isn't a big deal but more than that, nah.
