She-Hulk: Attorney at Law wasted no time in introducing Titania, one of the character's greatest foes from the comic books. Bursting into the courtroom Jennifer Walters was in, the superpowered influencer caused chaos before being swiftly taken down by the sensational lawyer.

Since then, she's tried to defeat Jen in a different way by trademarking the "She-Hulk" name. That didn't work out too well, and we can't help but think a full-blown battle between these two is now inevitable.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Titania actress Jameela Jamil discussed the character's origin story and how it differs from what we've seen on the page. "I don’t think Titania has ever been truly evil. I don’t think she’s like a Thanos. I think she’s someone who just wanted to be famous and powerful and respected because she wasn’t when she was a kid."

"And so we don’t get to tell that backstory on this show, because this is [head writer] Jessica Gao’s very 2022 L.A. iteration of Titania that I also love," Jamil explains. "But I was able to use a bit of that just to show that it’s insecurity that’s driving every one of Titania’s actions. She’s just so hungry for attention in a way that’s kind of insatiable, but it’s also very, very key to playing a super influencer, a lot of whom are villains."

Asked if Titania will now give up trying to take She-Hulk down a peg or two, the actress added, "Titania is just like COVID. There’s just always a new variant of her bad mood that keeps coming back. She’s never done. She never knows when to call it a day, and so she will be back. I’m not going to say what she does, but she’s just the thorn in Jennifer Walter’s side - a fabulous, glittering, diamond-encrusted thorn."

Of course, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law didn't actually mark Titania's first MCU appearance. A photo of the character could actually be seen in the headquarters of the Department of Damage Control in Ms. Marvel, though that actually came as a surprise to Jamil.

"They don’t have to ask for any permission," she said of her photo being used in the Disney+ series. "I had no idea until it aired. I found out from the fans who probably spotted my fringe. It was hard to make out, but they spotted my image. So I found out from the Marvel fans and their eagle eyes."

Hopefully, the stage is being set for Titania to be a major player not just in this series, but in future stories as well. The DODC has clearly identified her as a threat, and we're a little surprised Marvel Studios didn't decide to include her on the Thunderbolts roster!

What do you hope to see next from Titania in the MCU?

"Titania is just like COVID. There’s just always a new variant..."

Gotta love how she knows juuuuust the right buttons to push for just the right crowd to be triggered. Can practically already hear them foaming at their keyboards.

We're truly in an age where no one knows what evil is. Oh, she just wants to be famous? That's her reason for wanting to murder people in that courtroom episode 1? That's pretty f@#$ing evil. And I'd argue Thanos is technically less evil, because (while I admit his crimes are far worse) his reasoning was entirely selfless. He was trying to help people.

Didn’t she almost kill a bunch of people on the jury in court on the first episode? Not just kill, murder… she chucked a desk at normal humans. Soooo technically She Hulk saved her from becoming a full on villain.
Speaking of that first episode, did they ever establish why Titania threw that desk?

@slickrickdesigns - no. Writing and storytelling aren’t really this creative teams strengths so far.

@MrDandy - I thought that was majority of what they had going for this show as it’s slow in the action department.

Anyone else annoyed at how they pronounce her name on the show? Midsummer’s one of my favorite Shakespeare plays, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard a performance pronounce her name “ty-TAIN-ee-ya.”

@EarlChai - No, as that's how it's always sounded in my head. Like a derivative of Titan. Also probably wanted to avoid the 'tit' syllable.

@tRuckRogers46A - Heh. Yeah, you’re probably right on that last point.

@EarlChai - I never really equated her with Shakespeare

So where did she get her powers from?

Are we just accepting that people randomly have powers at this point? Is she a mutant?
Mutancy is an excellent shorthand if Marvel doesn't want to show origins for every random character.
