The news that The Incredible Hulk star Tim Roth would reprise the role of The Abomination in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was welcomed by fans, but the Disney+ show's take on the villain proved to be a tad divisive.
Released from prison thanks to a helping hand from Jennifer Walters, it appeared Emil Blonsky had managed to put his evil ways behind him. Setting up a retreat for C-List supervillains looking to move on from their past, he transformed into The Abomination in the finale after receiving what sounded like a sweet payday from The Intelligencia.
Despite what many fans theorised, Blonsky wasn't working with their leader, Todd, and when She-Hulk rewrote the finale, Jen sent him back to prison for breaking the terms of his release.
It was an underwhelming way to end his story and the hope is The Abomination might return after being broken out by Wong and taken to Kamar-Taj following their first meeting in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Talking to Screen Rant, Roth shared what he knows about the character's MCU future. "I have no idea if they have anything planned. I'd be very happy to drop right into Deadpool. I would love that! [Chuckles]"
"I enjoyed [She-Hulk: Attorney at Law]. I was very surprised when they came along," the actor continued, "and I definitely enjoyed it, so wherever they take me, it's fine, as long as you get to play."
Rumours are swirling that Wong will take centre stage in his own Disney+ series (tentatively titled Strange Academy), but with Marvel Studios scaling back its Multiverse Saga plans, who knows if it will still happen? If it does, then we'd guess Abomination could show up there as a new disciple of the Sorcerer Supreme.
