SHE-HULK Star Mark Ruffalo Hopes To Play Older Version Of The Hulk; Teases PLANET HULK And WORLD WAR HULK

Mark Ruffalo talks more about that big reveal in the latest episode of She-Hulk, and suggests he could eventually play a much older version of The Hulk akin to Maestro or Old Man Logan's Green Goliath.

Mark Ruffalo has now been playing Bruce Banner in the MCU since 2012's The Avengers, and while She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is all about Jennifer Walters, it's also shown that The Hulk's story is far from over. In the second episode, the Jade Giant is shown seemingly returning to Sakaar for what many fans believe will ultimately be a World War Hulk movie.

While time will tell on that front, Variety recently asked Ruffalo whether we should expect to see more of The Hulk on Sakaar in the not-too-distant future.

"It certainly does suggest that. There has been some conversations about what happened in the two years where Hulk abandoned Banner and the Avengers [on Sakaar], and the emergence of Smart Hulk, which hasn’t ever fully been answered," the actor teases. "I think maybe we’ve given four sentences to that time period since then."

"It’s really an interesting, exciting part of the Hulk story and Banner story," Ruffalo continues. "I do think that the trip to Sakaar is a good place to start and what that means to the idea of what the fans have been asking for — this idea of Planet Hulk or World War Hulk or just the journey that Banner and Hulk have to make to come to peace with each other."

While there's a lot of speculation on Ruffalo's part here, it does sound like any future Hulk adventures will finally reveal what happened during the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Thor: Ragnarok. That could mean Marvel Studios is planning a Planet Hulk movie, with World War Hulk possibly being saved for somewhere down the line.

Either way, the She-Hulk star hopes to continue playing the Green Goliath for a long time to come.

"When you look at the comics, there’s some pretty grizzled, old versions of him. I’m like, OK, the 67-year-old Hulk, that would be interesting — if all of us are still here making movies and there’s a world that allows for us to do that anymore," Ruffalo ponders. "I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. But I hope I’m still around to do it."

Now feels like a more exciting time for The Hulk than ever before, and we can't help but hope Marvel Studios really does have big plans for this character moving forward. He's made a great supporting character over the years, but it seems like the right time for him to step back into the spotlight.

The first two episodes of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law are now streaming on Disney+.

I’m still confused.
Banner fused his DNA with the Hulk DNA and became Smart Hulk.
That was his permanent form.
He walked around carrying tacos.
He had to eat massive meals to keep up his energy.
He said, “I’m wearing shirts now”.
He was embarrassed to act like savage Hulk.

Now he is Banner again and had to develop an inhibitor to stop himself from being Hulk.

Did he unfuse his DNA? When did that happen?

But as the director of She-Hulk said, they made Hulk back into Banner at the end of Shang Chi out of convenience to the upcoming She-Hulk story.

No, he was in human form in the Shang-Chi tag because of our show, and the reason we had him in human form was because of the nature of the accident. We knew that we wanted him to bleed onto Jen, which is how she got his blood. Hulk would not bleed; you can’t pierce Hulk’s skin, certainly not through a dinky car accident. So we needed to have him be in human form in order to have his Gamma-radiated blood get onto Jen and into her system, and we had to come up with a reason for why he was human."

Just out of convenience. That’s all. That makes their handling of Hulk even worse and also makes Endgame even worse.

They had Hulk on Sakaar. They didn’t need him for Ragnarok.
And with his possession by Wanda they could have used that in the banishing of Hulk which is what leads to World War Hulk in the first place

They might want to introduce more powerhouses into the MCU first for the Hulk to smash.

Also, is WWH mostly illustrated by John Romita Jr.? Because I want to read it, but I'm not a big fan of his art.

If they make the young avengers movie eventually. It should be after world war hulk and Hawkeye and hulk should be the mentors to the team.
