WandaVision scribe Jac Schaeffer is going to be sticking with Marvel for a while longer.

The head writer/showrunner for the first MCU-set Disney+ miniseries has signed a new three-year overall deal with Marvel and 20th Television to create and develop TV content (it doesn't sound like she'll be involved in any upcoming movies) for both Disney-owned platforms. No specific projects were announced as part of the deal, but a second season of WandaVision remains unlikely.

The finale of the critically acclaimed show saw Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) unleash her full power and become the Scarlet Witch, bidding farewell to "fake" Vision (Paul Bettany) and their kids in the process. The story is set to continue, but on the big screen in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Schaeffer began her career back in 2009 as a writer/director/producer on Timer before going on to pen the screenplays for Disney’s animated 2017 feature Olaf’s Frozen Adventure and 2019’s The Hustle. In addition to creating WandaVision, she contributed to the story for the upcoming Black Widow movie.

Which projects would you most like to see Schaeffer move on to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Drop us a comment down below.

Well deserved, the writing on Wandavision was great overall, especially the various homages to sitcoms.

Honestly, if Moon Knight wasn't being filmed and written already I would have loved to see her write for it.

She handles mental health very well and obviously....Moon Knight has his troubles lol.

Id probably put it above Falcon and Winter Soldier

@dracula - I’d definitely put it over FatWS. That show was solid but still a disappointment, especially compared to the rest of the Captain America franchise

@MrDandy - been a good year for new superhero shows.
1.Superman and Lois
2.Wandavision
3.Falcon and The Winter Soldier

Hopefully whatever comes next lives up to them

Well deserved.

SEASON 1

WANDAVISION

Critics Consensus

Part loving homage to TV history, part off-kilter mystery, WandaVision is a wonderfully weird and strikingly bold step into the small screen for the MCU - and a perfect showcase for Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.

I personally thought WandaVisionwas excellent overall

I'll forever not stop talking but how it annoyed me Wanda put a whole town (altbeit unknowingly) in a mental torture pressure, saw her mistake, and then put Agatha in one and straight-up just left.

Anyway, other than that the writing on this show was pretty solid. Can see MS put her on projects or episodes to serve as re- or co-writer of the personal/emotional parts of the stories.

@bkmeijer - I thought the Rambeau stuff was pretty bad and the powers she's given felt very shoehorned in and lame as far as origins go. I just really didn't like the last 2 episodes except for the actual Wanda/Vision emotional stuff.

@ThorArms - there was some more stuff in the last act of the show that didn't really work for me either, but it did deliver on the emotional stuff. And I would say that was kinda the promise we got fron the start with this show, so I'd they still succeeded.

@bkmeijer - yes, the show overall was good in my eyes- but it definitely didn't excite me like most of the mcu films do. The production and effects were hit or miss. First 6 episodes were great

@ThorArms - agreed. Luckily it was more hit than miss for me, especially since the it was a feature production on the small screen. I'm still kinda surprised how they managed to make that work overall.

Was worried some other studio would scoop her up after WandaVision

Glad to hear this and definitely bodes well for Black Widow. Can't wait to see what other Marvel stuff she gets into

I was thinking how screwed up it was for half the people in Westview. Like, they just blipped back and three weeks later they're trapped in mind-torture 😂

He would be a good Green Arrow if this doesnt work out
