WANDAVISION Stills From Last Friday's Episode Highlight Some Of The More Magical Moments - SPOILERS

WandaVision's latest episode pulled the curtain back on many of the secrets in Westview, and these newly released stills put the spotlight on some magical moments from Wanda's trip down memory lane...

In the appropriately titled "Previously On," WandaVision revealed everything that happened to bring Wanda Maximoff to Westview, and it turned out to be a real tear-jerker.

Along the way, we learned that Wanda's powers may have been there all along, with the Mind Stone simply activating dormant abilities. Later, Agatha Harkness would reveal that the Avenger is, in fact, the Scarlet Witch, but we'll be waiting until Friday to find out what exactly that means for the character.

In the meantime, Marvel Studios has released a few more stills from last Friday's episode.

The first features that tense confrontation between "Agnes" and Wanda, and we then get to see the latter's "attack" on S.W.O.R.D. Agatha's costume is also given the spotlight, but the most interesting image focuses on the moment Wanda inadvertently used Chaos Magic to resurrect Vision. The powers flowing from her are, as you'd expect, red, but turn yellow as Vision is "reborn."

Does that mean she was channelling the Mind Stone (possibly after absorbing its energy in the past), or is that just how the synthezoid had to be rebuilt? Either way, it feels like the door might be open to the hero making a permanent return, though we're bracing ourselves for more heartbreak.

Check out these new WandaVision stills below:

10. No, Jennifer Lawrence Isn't Playing Invisible Woman

2324343432213434323312133444

Last weekend, a very interesting rumour popped up online suggesting that Jennifer Lawrence had been cast as Sue Storm in Jon Watt's Fantastic Four reboot. Love or hate her work as Mystique in Fox's X-Men franchise, there's no denying that there's a lot the actress could bring to the role.

Sadly, it didn't take long until the report was debunked, with one reliable reporter explaining, "All I’m gonna say is this, Marvel just started meeting with writers on Fantastic Four, there is no script and it will be awhile before this film starts shooting." So, consider this rumour debunked!

9. First Trailer For Jupiter's Legacy Revealed

232434343221343432331213344

The first teaser for Netflix's adaptation of Jupiter's Legacy was released this week, while we also got a premiere date: May 7th. Oddly, though, there's not a single bit of footage from the show here.

That doesn't feel like the greatest of signs, and this "epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty" could go either way (it's certainly taken long enough to get here). Still, it's an intriguing teaser, and has us keen to see more.

8. Loki's Premiere Date Announced

23243434322134343233121334

Marvel's entire Phase 4 slate has been hit by delays courtesy of COVID-19, but there was some good news this week as Loki finally got an official premiere date (as did Star Wars: The Bad Batch).

Loki will arrive on June 11th, while The Clone Wars spinoff is set for a May 4th debut. As we're sure you know, that date is better known as "Star Wars Day." Hopefully, new trailers are on the way.

Check out the announcement Tweet in our original post.

7. Russo Brothers Plotting Superhero Movie Return

2324343432213434323312133

Cherry arrives in theaters today, and you can read our review of that one here. However, what comes next for filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo? Well, we don't know yet, but it seems they've already lined up their next superhero project...they're just not saying who they're making it for yet!

A Marvel return seems inevitable, but could a DC Comics adaptation be on the cards? Quite possibly, but it seems we'll have to wait and see for now (with any luck, an announcement is on the way).

Find out more from the Russos on their future plans here.

6. Martian Manhunter Steps Out Of The Shadows

232434343221343432331213

To promote Zack Snyder's Justice League, some variant covers for Justice League #59, including one showing off Superman in his black suit alongside the Flash, and most notably, Harry Lennix's Martian Manhunter have been revealed. We've caught a glimpse of that character on merchandise, but this Jim Lee artwork offers our best look to date at how he'll appear in the movie.

Of course, it was also revealed this week that the "mind-blowing cameo" which Vanity Fair mentioned in their recently interview was just referring to Martian Manhunter, and not, say, Green Lantern.

5. First Army Of The Dead Trailer Revealed

23243434322134343233121

It was recently confirmed that Army of the Dead will arrive on Netflix on May 21st, and we now have the first teaser trailer! It's brief, and only gives us a vague idea of what to expect, but this movie is clearly going to show us a Las Vegas like never before after the city is overrun by the undead.

It looks like director Zack Snyder (who penned the screenplay with Shay Hatten and Joby Harold) is having a lot of fun here, as we see a zombie Elvis impersonator, as well as a casino being overrun.

Watch the trailer right here.

4. Lucasfilm's Live-Action Ezra Bridger?

2324343432213434323312

It was originally reported that Lucasfilm was planned an animated sequel series to Star Wars Rebels, finally revealing what happened to Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn. The Mandalorian's second season set the stage for that story to play out, but the overwhelmingly positive reaction to Ahsoka Tano's live-action debut seemingly changed plans (and Ahsoka will now serve as that sequel).

According to a recent report, Aladdin star Mena Massoud is the current frontrunner to play Ezra in the Disney+ series, which would obviously be stellar casting decision on Lucasfilm's part.

For more details on this casting news, head over to our earlier report.

3. Shang-Chi's Costume

232434343221343432331

Some promo art featured on an upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings LEGO set found its way online on Friday, and revealed our first look at Simu Liu suited up as the title hero.

The set also contains Xialing (played by Meng'er Zhang) and Wenwu (Tony Leung). The latter, remember, is actually The Mandarin, so this LEGO minifigure offers a first look at how he might appear. Death Dealer being part of the movie is also new information...as is that massive water dragon!

Check out this leaked promo art from the movie here.

2. Spider-Man 3 Gets A Title: No Way Home

23243434322134343233

Tom Holland, Zendaya, and Jacob Batalon trolled us with fake titles for Spider-Man 3, and with those came a series of mostly unrevealing official images showing Peter Parker, MJ, and Ned. Eventually, the real title was revealed, and it's one we can definitely get on board with.

So, Spider-Man: No Way Home it is! Marvel Studios has certainly kept us all guessing, and it seems the "Home" sub-titles are here to stay. Will Spidey stick around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe or is he going to find himself a permanent addition to the SPUMC? We'll have to wait and see.

The announcement with the title reveal can be found by clicking here.

1. A Superman Reboot Is Coming

2324343432213434323

This wasn't the news some fans hoped for, but a Superman reboot appears to be in the works at Warner Bros. with J.J. Abrams producing, and Ta-Nehisi Coates penning the screenplay.

It doesn't sound like Henry Cavill will be returning as the Man of Steel, and the plan is instead to cast a Black actor to play the character. That will obviously mean a completely fresh take on Superman, and it appears Michael B. Jordan is still a possibility to take on the title role if things pan out.

I was feeling the opening Salem scene. Seems like it wasn't liked much but it was kind of cheesy in the right way for me. And I am someone who found Rambeau's origin scene to be a tad corny.

It was dope to see a different kind of sorcery in the MCU.

It was a nice touch to see the Scarlet Witch headdress appear on Agatha's mother in an energy form

@BlackBeltJones - we were there for just a small enough of time for the slight hokeyness of it to be ok with me
GhostDog
GhostDog - 3/2/2021, 5:54 AM
@Kman - That's how I felt. It was brief and it set the stage it needed to set.

I liked how they flipped the expected and had a Salem Witch "on trial" by other witches.

@BlackBeltJones - that witch trial opening really confused me at first.

It starts with them putting on magic binders on Agatha and then proceed to ask the question ''are you a witch?'', and all I could think was ''pretty sure you're the witches with you magic binders''
GhostDog
GhostDog - 3/2/2021, 6:22 AM
@bkmeijer - I took that question to me "are you a witch? If so, why take power from your sister and/or coven?"
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/2/2021, 6:26 AM
@BlackBeltJones - yeah thats what they asked right after, but just for a split second after the ''are you a witch?'' answer I was very briefly confused.

It indeed definitely made for an interesting twist on the whole witch trial

Wanda creating Vision out of thin air is so damn cool.

And with Hayward tracking Vision's decay signature (which I think is that of Vibranium), I believe Wanda can make some good money with. Create Vibranium, and then sell it.
Origame
Origame - 3/2/2021, 6:44 AM
@bkmeijer - there's definitely more to it than this. It's stated that the hex can't create anything new and only rearrange what already exists (to the point Monica's clothes were still made of kevlar). And we also know Wanda didn't actually take visions body. She must've gotten the vibranium somehow. Which I think is where the multiverse comes in.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/2/2021, 6:54 AM
@Origame - so Chaos Magic pulls stuff from another universe if it's not available in the near vicinity? That could be interesting
Origame
Origame - 3/2/2021, 6:58 AM
@bkmeijer - well the nexus was hinted at, and this show does need to set the stage for the multiverse movie somehow. Especially since episode 5 had her admitting resurrecting the dog was impossible for her. Why wouldn't she try if it worked with vision? Probably because she knows this is just another universes vision.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/2/2021, 7:01 AM
@Origame - I'm still confused as to what Wanda actually knows about her powers. Hayward seemed to know before her she could revive Vision, but when she did she forgot about it how it all started.
Origame
Origame - 3/2/2021, 8:17 AM
@bkmeijer - I think Hayward might be aware of chaos magic, just not knowing the limits.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/2/2021, 8:37 AM
@Origame - enough to trick Wanda into giving back a chaos magic imbued drone so that he can power Vision. Dude's a douche, but I like how calcaluted he is
Origame
Origame - 3/2/2021, 8:52 AM
@bkmeijer - I'm wondering if that was intentional on his part. If so definitely calculated
Whaley87
Whaley87 - 3/2/2021, 12:50 PM
@Origame - "It's stated that the hex can't create anything new and only rearrange what already exists"

I believe you're forgetting Agatha's line at the end of the episode though -

"You have no idea how dangerous you are. You’re supposed to be a myth. A being capable of spontaneous creation … This is Chaos Magic, Wanda. That makes you the Scarlet Witch.”

Spontaneous creation. This was definitely emphasised.
Origame
Origame - 3/2/2021, 1:55 PM
@Whaley87 - if you take her literally then it's an inconsistency. Especially since she claims myth, implying she doesn't fully understand it.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/2/2021, 2:59 PM
@Origame - Hayward is much smarter than he is letting on. I'm almost starting to like him

I just realized what a missed opportunity it was that during the first episode they didn't mention their honeymoon was in Tahiti.

Sidenote. I just found out that Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly are married and have a beautiful family together. That also led me to the fact that she also voiced Karen in Spider-Man Homecoming. They are the literal voices of the MCU haha and I just think thats frickin awesome and wish them both the best.
