I enjoy Smallville and I enjoy Heroes, I admit completely that I am a sucker for a Superhero program. I don't think its constructive to bash things I don't watch and or I've never watched because I've prejudged them (like Prison Break).

I'd rather BBC1 was back to back superhero shows than soaps and make over shows (keep the documentaries however). It's a harshly judged genre.

Heroes is better than Smallville to me. Heroes seems more adult, and smallville seems to be for the kiddies. I do like them both, but I got sukered into the Heroes craze. It took me a long time because I hate network television dramas... I feel so 40 yr old white/ suburban when I watch em. I went ahead and gave heroes a try,a nd now it's my cack. Jeph Loeb wrote a coupe episodes as well as Michael Green... What is better than a tv show written by comic writers? The Legion episode of Smallvile by Geoff Jons was bad ass too!

The thing that disappoints me about Heroes is that they are all somehow connected. Everyone knows everyone or they know someone who knows someone else. There are no strangers. It gets ridiculous after a while.

Seriously?? Come on guys!! He sounded like he didnt even know what show he was talking about at first. He just kept pausing at re-checking his words. I'm towards the end of the 3rd season right now, and this 4th season doesn't seem to be all that kick-ass like its predecessors.
But of course, im gonna watch the 4th season to see for myself, and judge then.
It still sucks though, that they have to split them up. Isn't Heroes supposed to be about connections and how everybody knows everybody at some point or another?? I know it made it confusing during the 3rd season, but it kept me interested to find out how he knows her or how she helped him, and so on.
But anyways, what kind of word is "Genre-y???" You know that he had to be improvising at that point cause with the low budget for the show, they had to have low budgets for his script......

I still like Heroes but its never going to be as good as the first season..which was amazing! I mean wtf is going on with Sylar?? He decides to be good because he realises that its his power thats making him kill, and he really connects will Elle and finds a soul mate to struggle along with him,,..then he think "ah [frick] that" and kills her..terrific writing. Lost and Battlestar blow heroes and Smallville out of the water

I agree with roar, Battlestar is way better (but not as good as Babylon 5 was, damn that rocked) and BTW, Tim Kring is a douche and wouldn't be jack shit without his writers!

Having put that aside, the third season is actually alot better than the sac of shit which was the second. It's still not up to par with the first though but that is to be expected. They do have to make changes to the concept here and there to keep it fresh or else it lacks originality. I'll watch the fourth with reasonably high hopes.

And my favorite show is Supernatural right now. Can't wait for them to put out the 4th season because i never follow a show every week.

I am glad they are going back to the ordinary people with extraordinary abilities. That's what made the show initially for me. I still watch it every week but I just have a feeling that it's not going to get picked up for another season next year. There's just too much time travel for a non comic book fan to be able to figure out what's going on. They also need to stop killing off people unless they are going to stay dead. It takes away from any drama of the show. I still enjoy the show and will continue to watch though. I am a big comic book guy as well.

I’m kinda mixed when it comes to Heroes. At first the show was probably the best on TV. But over the next 2 seasons, the quality and “fever” of the show has dwindled dramatically. Season 1 was so good that I lived my life around the airing of that show! lol Since then, that’s’ why I own a DVR. Besides the fact that the show has lost its luster, most of the story lines can be traced to the comics. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE COMICS, been collecting since the early ‘80’s! However, I’m a much bigger fan of original content. This whole season about ‘Fugitive’s”, reminds me way too much of the Mutant Registration Act of 1986 which took place in Marvel Comics back it the X-Men and related X titles. Anyone who’s read those issues [and judging by some of what I’ve read on this site, not too many of you], can remember when Senator Kelly pushed for this act after watching his wife killed in a battle between the X-Men and the Brotherhood. So with Tim Kring completely out of ideas on how to bring back the excitement of Heroes, the guy starts flipping through his old comics and comes up with this story line. Sorry to say, but my DVR has more important shows to record nowadays. Heroes is a lot like the one-hit-wonders of music, you have this amazing & smashing debut and mostly just crap after that.

I personally love Heroes, and have been equally entertained by not only the first, but also the second and current season. I personally attest most of the (minimal) decline in ratings and viewer retention to the writer's strike, and the fact that the series was put in "hiatus" right at the onset of its popularity!
I understand that a lot of the subject matter and material of the show is reflective of the comic book world, and its history... But isn't that also the appeal of the show?!
I mean, I loved the introduction of the "German magnetic powered individual", me and my friends got a serious laugh out of that one. But I highly disagree that these kind of plot diversions are meant to be taken more seriously than a nod at what we all know and love about the genre!
(That's my piece, take of it what you will.)

The thing with hereos it's a good show and it does kick ass but they introduced to much characters with powers at once and then they kill them then a new one arrives or one dissapears and probably wont come back. The show is great dont get me wrong but i heard a rumor that the writers may not come back and that worries me cuz they made that show what it is.

P.S Hayden Panettiere is smokin and she said she'll sleep with angelina jolie, jessica alba and Kate Beckinsale (im in love) lol.
