NBC have released an official synopsis for Tim Kring's upcoming Heroes revamp. It doesn't give too much away, and there are no casting details yet, but it sounds like it'll basically be the first season all over again with a new batch of characters.

The saga behind the 2006 breakout series Heroes will continue as creator Tim Kring returns to the fold and develops new layers to his original superhero concept. This highly anticipated 13-episode miniseries will reconnect with the basic elements of the show’s first season where ordinary people were waking up to the fact that they had extraordinary abilities. This series will be preceded by a new digital series that will introduce audiences to the new characters and storylines that will take the Heroes phenomenon to new places.

1rst Season was TV gold, looks like they'll be trying to recapture that.

"Heroes Reborn"? They used the same name as that Rob Liefeld garbage? That is a really bad omen.

@xstryker Rob Liefeld is the greatest.

IDk I think this idea got worn out real quick when the show was on the air...thats why it got so stale so quick. Seems like they're trying to capture lightning in a bottle here..and without costumes, it might just fall short of some of the other comic book infused television that will be coming out at around the same time.

I don't think this will do well, I don't think superhero shows outside of proper marvel/dc properties do very well, because you know they are just jumping on the superhero wagon, the cape, the tomorrow people etc heroes might do better because it already has a fan base I'm guessing, I loved the series but it obvi got crap as it went on,I hope its as good as the first season anyways

So, they're introducing a new set of "heroes" are they? So what about the bit where Claire pretty much outs all the heroes/villains/super-powered people in the world? They're just gonna pretend that never happened?

I need more info on this, cuz so far it seems like I might have to pass on this "Reborn" series :/

I want them to hire some fresh faces :D

If there's one person I want back, it's Ali Larter as the third triplet, Barbara

Nooo no Sylar.
He was awesome at the start but they just milked him dry by the end of it. They tried to make him sympathetic at parts and the whole "we're brothers" or whatever was stupid.

Plus i tried watching this show again on Netflix....

....first season...

..got old REEEEAAAL quick...

I think it was the fact that when this show came out, there were only a bunch of good to mediocre cgm's at the time and absolutely no comic book tv shows....it did its best to fill a void....a void that has since been filled by the heavy hitters (AOS+ ARROW)...Peter & Nathan Petrelli and Hiro and Hayden Pantierre? Sorry, I'm just only barely slightly interested..

NOW Constantine? Agent Carter? AOS Season 2? Arrow Season 3? The Flash? Daredevil on NF? THAATS what I'm looking forward to...not a half steppin wannabe superhero show.

Agent Carter is top of my must watch list after that Marvel short.
She was incredible, plus it's about time Marvel let a woman take center stage in their Studio work.

@Cherry

I'm not completely sure what went wrong, but I started hating every Ali Larter character in the show. I just found them irritating and annoying. I actually have problems with Ali Larter in other roles since then. :(

So yeah, she's among the characters that'd make me stay away from this Reborn thing. Please no Sylar, Claire, Nate Petrelli or Parkman either.

Moon Knight is like a Batman mixed with Deadpool and pure awesomeness. Much prefer a Moon Knight Netflix series to a Jessica Jones one.

I agree...I'm really curious to see how Marvel treats their female lead characters in the long term like that..
Sif was cool...Carter was awesome...Widow has been badass... but I want to see something led by a female...with people like Joss, and James Gunn putting in work with Marvel, i can only assume they'll speak up for strong female leads. Go Marvel!

Yeah I just threw in the Constantine thing because of last issue.
That was actually a bit of a stretch...but whatever.

:O how dare you! Ali literally became my reason to watch. The split personality storyline was great, Ali played them both so well, Nikki was a character you really felt for, a lot of the others felt so hipster and contrived. & Even Tracy, she made a character that could be a real bitch likeable and quite a bad ass.

Agreed. If they keep the energy and atmosphere of that Carter short it's going to be the $#!*. No joke, I really enjoyed her in that.

I think it will be great with a whole new cast. I don't need to know what everyone is up to. I know it won't happen but I would love to see it not take part in the US. It would be interesting to see what the rest of the world looks like.

This should still be really good. Kring is pretty good and there is no writer's strike in the foreseeable future (hopefully).

I hope that they give cameos of the old characters. This sounds good though. I loved Heroes even the stuff after the first season. The last season was kind of a mess though.
