Heroes To Be Put Out Of Its Misery?

Heroes To Be Put Out Of Its Misery?

According to E!Online, this season of the increasingly unpopular show may be its last.

After Sendhil Ramamurthy(Mohinder Suresh)won a huge majority of fan votes to be the next character killed off on Heroes, NBC announced he's been cast in a new pilot called Rex Is Not Your Lawyer . But this doesn't necessarily mean that Suresh will be taking the dirt nap. The whole show may take one!

E!Online's source tells them...

"Everyone is expecting this to be the last season. The cast, the crew, everyone."

If this does happen, it's really no surprise. The first season of Heroes was great, the second took a dip in quality. I still enjoyed it for the most part. However half way through the third, it became obvious that the quality was only going to get worse instead of better. I haven't watched much of this current season, but I haven't heard of any miraculous recovery t greatness.

I know we still have some loyal fans on here,. How does this news sit with you? Do you think there is more to tell, or this last season would be a good stopping point?

It's a good show. It's entertaining. I still watch every episode. Which is something I can't say about Smallville after the pass two or three seasons. Although, I don't have any emotional attachment to it. I just hope if they end it, the series finale is awesome.

I thought I'd love this show what with it being about superheroes and all, lol, but I watched half of the firt season and wasnt impressed and then watched the S1 finale and some of S2 and I just had to stop watching - I thought it was awful! Doesnt Jeph Loeb have something to do with the show? That would probably explain why I never liked it as I havent read a single decent comic book ever written by that guy!

YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME! This season has been far more
better than the previous season, The whole traveling carviel thing,(knapper) is THE MAN at playing Samuel!, Clair (Hayden P)(who I LOVE) really stepped up her acting IMO. The whole Sylar sharing a body with Matt
storyline was great. now Sylars has controll of HIS body, So he's back to normal,They killed of Nathan,
Did I mention how much I lOVE HAYDEN,
SHE IS SOOOO HOT!(plus I meet her at NYCC a few years
back and she was such a sweetheart!
(I have an autographed picture with my name on it)

That was just a small sample of how the season really evoled since last season which was just OK.

OHH I forgot to mention hiro and his life threating illness from useing his powers.

MAN! I really hope they don't cancell HEROES! It is one of my FAVORITE shows on TV.. Plus If they cancel the show I won't have anything to watch on MONDAY!

JOSH- I know you don't like Jeff Loeb, but you can't blame him he only wrote a couple of episodes for season 1,2 but after that he left the show.(just saying)
but you should really try reading
Batman:The Long Halloween, That IMO is Loebs
greatest book to date, that and
Superman: for all seasons

I know you don't read DC but you should really try these GEMS!!

PP, they killed off Nathan at the end of last season! He had his throat cut and Sylar was tricked into believing he was really Nathan..so then this season they say they are going to have a big shocking death and it turns out to be a dude they already killed! Balls. The show has none In 4 seasons only 2 main characters have died. They brought Nikki back as a "twin"..killed her..and brought he back..AGAIN! Its a joke. This week someones bad, this week they are good..there is no continuity with the writing. I know its a fantasy show, but the characters should still behave in a realistic way.

Seems logical I guess. I like the whole carnival idea and I am enjoying this season but there needs to be some more cliffhangers, more questions to keep people wanting to know more.

First season we didn't know who Sylar was until like half way through! The strike did mess up things for Heroes.

The whole reason I really LOVED the first season was the premise: How would the world react to the introduction of TRUE SUPERNATURAL HEROES. The concenpt had a FANTASTIC ELEMENT in the REAL WORLD (a la Batman Begins/TDK) which made it so fun to watch. With amazing special effects and compelling characters the first season was great. Afterwords two things went wrong IMO:

1) The writer's strike REALLY hurt the show because viewers have the attention span of amebas.
2) The show was SO drawn out, and it went from FANTASTIC IN REAL WORLD to FANTASTIC IN FANTASTIC WORLD. Hiro ending up in Shogun times, Peter ending up with Irish criminals while having amnesia...the writers couldn't resist the urge to fly RIGHT over the top. It's a shame so much time and MONEY was sunk into it...I would rather the money have gone to Smallvill!!

Rorschach01- Ya I see what you are saying about nathan
I really thought HIRO was going to die, but
the season IS NOT over yet, it is just
taking a break until JAN, so maybe that
wasn't the BIG DEATH, I chalk that up to
tieing up loose ends.

we can talk more when I get back I have to do laundry!

I think they have to go at least as far as defeating Samuel and Sylar.

If Sylar survives this show, I will be so mad.

And I have really enjoyed this past season.

It is still my favorite show on television.

The is still very much watcheable, because there isnt' many show like this out there to watch Honesty. StarGate,Smallville, V, Wolverine & the X-men, & Battlestar Galactica are not on right now. Still I think it won't ever get is shine like the 1st season. But Ror is right is does flip flop a lot LIterally!

If I remember correctly, Heroes has also had massive budget cuts and I don't know about you guys but I can certainly see it in the special effects and such. On top of that, Greg Beeman left!

PETE: Ah, fair enough! Its just one of those things I guess because I just couldnt like the show however much I wanted to!

I've read a few bits of DC stuff so I'd consider checking that out - Loeb hasnt always been bad, I actually liked his short run on Wolverine in fact but since then his stuff like Ultimates 3, Ultimatum and all of his Hulk stories have quickly made me hate the man, lol!

I like Heroes. I just wish Peter would get his full powers back. I sucks if they drop it then the only NBC show I will watch is The Office. I think they just need better writes but this season is better then the last one.

@ josh Jeph Loeb's Batman stuff is awesome. But I guess you are a Marvel guy.

Damn, this season has been pretty damn good too! Too bad no one is watching.

I don't think it's been as dramatic of a turn-around as, say, SMALLVILLE has been, but they are certainly doing things much better these days. The main thing for me is that they just DROP characters on this show with ABSOLUTELY no explanation. MICAH (who was fantastic btw), his Cousin, Aunt, or whatever, and at least 2 others.

Also, the "Side Series" that you HAVE to watch online kinda pisses me off too. So if I want understand the WHOLE story i HAVE to go online and deal with all your dumb@ss ads.....no thanks.

It's a damn shame tho, i still watch every week.

I'm a big HEROES fan and I would hate to see this series go, this season has become better than the last. Now I don't feel like it's the end of the world if this is the final season but I would like to see a final season that ties everything to a closing end.

I would hate for this to be Heroes' last season. I think they're just starting to branch out and really explore what can be done with a comicbook-style universe on a TV show.

Lets face it, this show follows comicbook formula to the T. Characters switching sides, switching back, characters losing powers, getting new powers, figuring out new ways to use their powers. Unlikely and temporary alliances, gratuitious college makeout scenes (lesbian, but hey, tell me you never wanted to see Shadowcat and Rogue experiment in the X-Mansion!) And the deaths? Really? People are upset about the deaths? Characters die and get brought back all the time in comics! HELLO! Cap Reborn? Thor? Hell, Tony Stark's brain is in the process of being rebooted as we speak. Why is this so hard to accept when they bring it to TV?

BruceWayneNewton - 12/4/2009, 10:31 AM
I am a Heroes fan and the show has decent storylines for the most part. The lack of action is whats preventing high ratings. More funs and less violent violin moves from that deaf woman.(still don't know where that ties into anything)
BillyBlack
BillyBlack - 12/4/2009, 10:37 AM
About two seasons too late if you ask me.

They should've wrapped this bad boy up after season two, when things started to slip. Have a massive secret wars type battle and end it.

Heores still gets better numbers then Leno, but I bet they keep the Chin's show going. Leno's Show has caused a mess of the NBC line up, but NBC cancelig Earl showed that they didn't have clue.

Run it out to season 5 and call it a day!, I love Heroes and its probably turned into more of a fan thing now rather than being for the general public, we have to download them here in ENGLAND and to be honest theres not much Backlash over here.... still can see where it needs tightening up, series one the best and there were some great scenes in season 3, Jaymaster out!

This last season was a lot better then the second and third. Oohw, and that pilot 'Rex Is Not Your Lawyer',also stars David Tennant aka Doctor Who.
It's about a lawyer that has panic attacks and has to teach his clients to defend themselfs.
WarNoodle
WarNoodle - 12/4/2009, 11:26 AM
well.. the first season, they revealed the plot from the get go.. so I believe it helped draw people in to see what happens... This season though!! still don't know the exact plot yet! other than the carny dude most likely wants to kills all humans on the planet that don't have powers... I do still enjoy it.. and realize they are trying something different, but I do see how its falling fast.

Tylert80 - 12/4/2009, 11:34 AM
I think the first season was probably the best, the second was the worst and the third was okay. As for this season it pretty good only for the fact that the fight between peter and sylar in the hospital was better than the nathan/peter/sylar at the end of season three and the story lines aren't as bad.

They should probably just give up the ghost and go ahead and make a live action X-Men TV series. (Also, did anyone think it was odd that on "Fringe" they had a group of odd, bald men who watched everything that happened, but weren't supposed to interfere? Sound familiar...?)

Well that's a shame, I'm a huge Heroes fan! Granted the first season is the best one, but I think this season's been pretty awesome so far!
I love the whole Samuel/carnival storyline.

Oh well, no good show can last forever right? I just hope they have a solid ending or maybe even have a 5th season to wrap it up.

JOSH- I will agree with you that Ultimates 3,and the
new hulk comics are NOT that good!LOL
but I can't say anything about Ultimatum since
I never read those books(but want to) I want to
just to see David Finch's artwork he is an
AMAZING artist, soooo much detail I also
meet him at the same NYCC, got messiah complex
signed and a limited(2000) print autographed!

Heroes started out good.. But any thing related to Jeph Loeb is utter garbage right now (he is so a DC guy not a marvel guy and needs to go back.) and sadly Heroes is no exception. I mainly blame Loeb.

ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THAT SHOW IS SYLAR
SuperPowered
SuperPowered - 12/4/2009, 12:28 PM
The way it is, YES!! It's so repetitive. Sylar is the only bad guy and he can't be killed so it's seems so pointless. The only good thing about the show are the hot girls. They need some fresh blood, take a cue from Marvel and DC, have some other bad guys/super villians and some epic battles between them.

This is unfortunate news indeed! Although, to be quite honest, not all that surprising. After the first season of Heroes, like everyone said, the show really took a dip in quality. And they've followed the classic comic book mistake of making irrelavent information relavent and then dropping it to make way for a twist and the like and then never come back to it: ie the Godsend symbol, Hiro's sword, Peter's powers, Papa Petrelli's return, Rebel/Micah, Nathan dying/tryin to die for the past 2 seasons...but then not really, etc. It's just bad, convuluted story telling. But I love the characters and I love the show so I'm curious to see where they'll take it. Hopefully it's not the end for our Heroes! <---Hardy har har.
