CASSIAN ANDOR Star Diego Luna Has Revealed That The ROGUE ONE Spinoff Is Now Shooting In London

It seems production is now (or will soon be) underway on the Cassian Andor Disney+ series, as star Diego Luna has confirmed that he is in London to begin working on the Rogue One spinoff during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

We don't know if camera are actually rolling just yet, but some kind of official announcement may be imminent.

The actor also commented on the show's timeline, making it clear that the prequel will basically encompass "everything you have to know to understand Rogue One." Of course, we already know how Andor's story plays out (spoiler: not well), which Luna acknowledges after Kimmel jokingly points out that he's already spoiled the ending.

The still untitled series will follow the adventures of Rebel spy Cassian Andor and his droid pal K-2SO during the formative years of the Rebellion and prior to the events of Rogue One. The rousing spy thriller will "explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire."

Toby Haynes (Black Mirror) will helm Cassian Andor, stepping in to replace original director Tony Gilroy, who was reportedly forced to drop out due to COVID-19 related travel restrictions.

The Americans producer Stephen Schiff will serve as showrunner on the series, which will also feature Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgard, and Kyle Soller in undisclosed roles.

Be honest...did anyone really want this show?

Great movie, and his character was kinda cool I guess? But there are SO MANY other things they could have done, characters to use, etc. rather than focusing on a background character who we know ends up dying...

Call me crazy, but I know people will agree with me that there are other projects worth pursuing...

Rogue One is my favorite Star Wars movie, and Diego Luna was a big part of that, so a bit thrillery SW content doesn't sound bad to me.

I'm also intrigued by that SW in the making which is described as ''martial arts SW.'

How is it that a Cassian Andor series is happening before an Ahsoka Tano show?

It still baffles me that THIS of all things is a story worth telling during the reign of the Empire.

I'm waaAAaay more excited for the bad batch, and that comes from someone who doesn't even like the Bad Batch that much.

JUST GIVE ME MORE CLONES DAMMIT!

I have no idea what to expect from this. I'm hoping we get to see Cassian's dark side that was hinted in Rogue One and not that they make him a full-on hero in this.

Also wonder why did picked Cassian and not Dameron, my guess is that there has be something that's gonna set it apart. I'm hoping for some crime syndicate appearances.

I'd much rather have a Dr. Aphra show if we're going to keep getting Empire-era content, but the people involved must have had a good pitch to get it fast-tracked. Looking forward to seeing how it develops. I really hope they aren't afraid to go dark.

So is it a movie or Disney+... seems in the current situation it should go the Disney+ route. The more exclusives Disney+ offers with Marvel and SW projects the better they compete against HBO Max/DC.

People wanted to know more about his background so they're going to get it whether they asked for it or not lol.

It would be cool to see a darker side of the Rebellion, the movies always portray it as too clean and pure good. Showing them doing unsavory stuff to further their mission would make for an interesting show.

"I’ve been in this fight since I was six years old"
I wonder if we will also get lengthy clone wars era flashback scenes of a young Cassian played by other actors.

Give the least interesting character in the movie his own prequel series? Genius.
