VIDEO GAMES: Assassin's Creed III Reveal Trailer and Other Info

While last year's Assassin's Creed: Revelations got a lot of fan backlash, this threequel(sort of) is shaping up to be the best game in the series yet.

First off, it's been way too long CBMers. So I just wanted to give everybody a shout-out, sorry I haven't been on in a while. I've been pretty busy lately but I'm back and hope to stay for a while.

Without further ado, here's the announcement cinematic trailer:

Not too shabby, eh? This trailer was made with the in-game Anvil Next Engine, which can now reportedly handle a thousand characters on screen and makes this game the biggest AC ever.

Also, thanks to the latest GameInformer, we have plenty of info in the characters, setting, and gameplay.

-The game takes place in the years 1753-1783 in the cities of Boston and New York.
-In between the cities is a map known as the Frontier, which is 1.5 times the size of Rome and features a third of the game's content. It has famous locations like Lexington and Concord or the main character's Mohawk Village.
-The main character's name is Ratohnhake:tin(which is pronounced Ra-doo-ha-gay-doo), but his "American" name is Connor Kenway. His mother was a Mohawk and his father was a British soldier. He was raised in a Mohawk village until he clashed with the British and his village was burned down. This lead him to join with the Assassins in a search for justice, not revenge,
-The first part of the game you play as Connor as a child.
-The game has a summer-winter cycle, where in the winter everything is covered in snow and enemies are at a disadvantage.
-Players will meet George Washington, Ben Franklin(although he won't be like Da Vinci), and Charles Lee, who appears to be an enemy.
-Stealth has been expanded to make Connor seem more like a predator.
- Combat has been reinvented to make it more fluid and dual-wielding is present. Some weapons you can use: a bow and arrow, dagger, knife, flintlock pistol, flintlock rifle, hidden blade, and an assassin tomahawk.
-Freerunning has been improved; you can slide under obstacles, maneuver around in new ways, and climb trees.
-They are hiring Mohawks to do some voice acting and even using the Mohawk language in some scenes.
-Desmond returns, and this will be his conclusion. His scenes have to do with the temple at the ending of Revelations.
-There will be multiplayer and 4-player online co-op.

So, not bad, eh? Are you interested in a change from the Renaissance setting, or are you bored of these games entirely? Regardless, ACIII is set to release in October 30th. If you preorder from GameStop, Best Buy, or Amazon, you get a SWEET steel book case with a cover by Alex Ross(already picked mine up). Leave your thoughts in the usual place.

This game is shaping up nicely. Stoked it has to do with the Revolution. Flows very nicely with the progression of the series and overall tone of Desmond's story as well as the sub plot.

@Lucaxmen Sorry if it was posted, but I definitely haven't seen this much in-depth info in CBM.

Ubisoft is on a one year cycle. They have released an "Assassins Creed" Title every year. There wasnt enough production time for this game. I dont want another "Revelations" Which was "Brotherhood", But with a different title. I want something NEW, like when "Assassins Creed II" Came out- it was NOTHING like the first game, I want that, for this. Unfortunately... that is not what im seeing.

@RABB1T What are you talking about? This is nothing like Brotherhood or Revelations. This game has a THREE YEAR development cycle, longer than any AC game. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised with the final product.

This video and news came out last week. There's a GT Pop Trailer now over at Gametrailers that gives small info that you probably already read about by now.

@Rabbit, ooo knowledge fail. This game has been in development for 3 years like Altair said. Not to mention that the forest section of the game is 1.5x bigger than Brotherhood. Not to mention your silly AC/AC2 comment. They are exactly the same except they just fixed what people didn't like in AC1 like repetitive-ness. You are clueless on all fronts aren't ya?

@Rabbit, this game is going to be much different in terms of story, characters, time era, etc. It's as far away from Ezio and Altair as one could possibly get lol. I mean, he's a [frick]ing half indian for crying out loud. So tell me, how is this not new and not different than the previous games when nothing but combat will be same? Everything you say is painfully dumb and not very well thought out. You should probably not comment anymore, for your own sake.

Hey, insults are uncalled for- I stated a goddamn opinion- live with it. I SAID, without clarification, these games are being pumped out too fast. "Assassins Creed" Was great, but "Assassins Creed II" Was better because, as you said, they changed everything that made the first game repetitive, slow. Basically, they changed the game, making the sequel nothing like its first installment. Then came "Brotherhood" The bridge game that extended Ezios story, they took the style of "AC2" And made a shorter, more puzzle-like game, a game originally supposed to be multiplayer only. "Revelations" Came out soon after- and it was EXACTLY like "Brotherhood" Except it was a wee bit longer, just another bridge game. Ubisoft is not giving the game the attention it needs, no matter its development time, maybe I was wrong on that, no one is perfect, dammit. However, the fact still stands, that "Assassins Creed III" Although, having a somewhat impressive trailer- still looks as if they havent improved a damn thing. A new character, a new setting, a small glimpse at a new weapon, but nothing that makes the game, itself, look any different in terms of mechanics, graphics, gameplay. Ubisoft needs to pull what they did with "AC2" And change everything for this new character, instead of reusing everything from the last three installments. I dont expect you folks to SHARE my opinions, but at least respect that I have one- I dont fall into the majority, I differ, so what. I am not trying to put down a franchise you are impressed with, I enjoy the games, I just wish for something a little different this time around- nothing major. No need to take offense, guys.
