Yes, it's been eight long years since we've had the pleasure of seeing Haley on film. I've been counting the days. Watching his last film, 2003′s Secondhand Lions over and over again, but it just wasn't enough to satisfy my Haley fix. And now, with this good news, I'm sated. Mr. Robert Pattinson better watch out, there is a new heart throb in town and his name is Haley.

Variety reports Osment will star in Wake the Dead, an adaptation of 30 Days of Night author Stephen Niles‘s graphic novel that takes the Frankenstein story and sets it in the present day. Osment will play a college student named Victor Franklin who, in his studies, experiments with reversing death.

Wake the Dead is being produces through the guitarist Slash‘s horror banner, Slasher Films. Jay Russell (Ladder 49) is set to direct. Says Slasher Films producer Rob Eric of Osment’s casting, “This role allows him to break out of his shell and he will have no problem handling it.”

just recognised who he is, its the kid from Sixth Sense. And just because he was a good child actor doesn't necessarily mean that he's going to be good adult actor

You sound like you wanna knock boots with this guy. I completely forgot about this kid, well besides when he got caught driving drunk with some weed..He was stopped in a 1996 station wagon too, wouldn't you think he had a better car than that?
The girl that plays Arya Stark makes his child acting look like a joke.

He was a great actor as a child, nice to see him get a role. But what he needs to do is tell Actvison to make Kingdom Hearts 3. He was Sora.

He had a really hard time and lots of problems (the car accident), just give him a chance. I think he will return with something good

He was Forrest Gump's son too. He still looks like a little kid a bit to me. I figured he'd be doing shakeyspear on broadway by now. Good Luck to him and he better scare the bejebus out of me again with this flick.

@nailbiter111 I SO agree with the 1st comment...ditto what was going through my mind. Since you are such a fan of his acting in The Sixth Sense you have over-hyped his comeback imho...
Just cos he did great 8 years ago doesn't guarantee he'll do great after so many years! We've seen so many great child actors blossom as kids on screen on the telly but then disappear into oblivion! All we can do is wait & watch, & see how he does in WTD...

He is a great actor, and as long as he doesn't become a drug addict or Hollywood degenerate he'll be fine.

He was a great child actor and he's done some stuff on Broadway since then. Most notably, he was in a Broadway production of David Mamet's "American Buffalo", in that play alone...he proved he could still act.
He's also done some straight to video stuff.
