FAST & FURIOUS: SPY RACERS Star Renée Elise Goldsberry Ready To Bring Ms. Nowhere Into Live-Action (Exclusive)

Fast & Furious: Spy Racers returns to Netflix tomorrow, and star Renée Elise Goldsberry explains to us why she's ready to bring a live-action Ms. Nowhere into the Fast & Furious or Hobbs & Shaw franchises!

As noted, we were recently fortunate enough to catch up with Renée Elise Goldsberry to discuss her role as Ms. Nowhere in the fifth season of Fast & Furious: Spy Racers (which launches on Netflix tomorrow, August 13). Of course, we're sure you'll also recognise the actress from her Emmy-nominated performance in Hamilton on Disney+ and as Quellcrist Falconer in Altered Carbon

For those of you familiar with the show, we're sure you'll be aware that Ms. Nowhere has become a breakout fan-favourite, and a character who would definitely fit in nicely in the live-action movies.

With that in mind, we had to ask Renée how she'd feel about making the leap from animation to either the Fast & Furious or Hobbs & Shaw franchises. "God bless you for saying that! [Laughs] It totally crossed my mind today when I was thinking about this new season dropping," she responded.

"For the first time, surprisingly, it crossed my mind that this woman would be very, very at home in the live-action Fast & Furious series [Laughs]. I have no power to bring that to life, but what I’m proud of is that in the landscape of this franchise, and it’s so wide-reaching, and like Hamilton, continuously surprising at how successful it continues to be, is that Ms. Nowhere would be a wonderful addition. She is so charming and funny in the way that all the characters in the live-action series are, and the way this animated series has developed the relationships between the characters reminds me of what I love most about the movies. Those actors look like they are having so much fun working with each other, so I feel like Ms. Nowhere would be right at home there."

We've obviously spent time with Mr. Nobody (Kurt Russell) and Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood) in the movies, so throwing Ms. Nowhere into the mix...well, it just makes perfect sense. The Fast & Furious franchise includes a lot of badass female characters, and we'd love to see Goldsberry added to the mix.

For now, her story will continue in Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, and as Palindrome actor Paul Wight recently told us, the relationship between his character and Ms. Nowhere is heading to some exciting places! Check back here soon for our full interview with Renée about her role in the series.

Fifth season already? Feels like the show started only a year ago tops.

Anyway, casting her and making the character resemble her makes me think we will see Goldsberry in live-action. Especially if 10 and 11 are filmed back-to-back, I expect a big ensemble.

Who’s watching this? Does anyone’s kids really wait for this show to premiere? I thought it was still on season 1. Lol
