FAST X Post-Credits Scene Features The Return Of Someone You'd Never Expect - MASSIVE SPOILERS

Make sure you have plenty of baby oil, cause The Rock is (back) in the building!

Following last night's Rome premiere, The Wrap has confirmed (and decided to spoil) that Dwayne Johnson reprises his role as Luke Hobbs in the upcoming Fast X, which opens in theaters next Friday, appearing in a massive post-credits sequence that sets up the eleventh installment in the long-running franchise.

Considering how publicly Johnson swore off the franchise and leading man Vin Diesel during the production of 2017's The Fate of the Furious, it's certainly a surprising and unexpected development, but also undoubtedly a welcome one for fans who would like to see as many of the Fast Family return to the screen before the series rides off into the sunset in 2025 - unless, of course, Diesel wasn't bluffing when he stated yesterday that Universal had already asked for a Fast & Furious 12

While Diesel and Johnson were engaged in a war of words for several years, it's believed the pair had mended fences sometime last year, although Johnson still declined Diesel's public offer to return.

However, with the cold streak Johnson currently finds himself on with Black AdamDC League of Super-Pets, and Jungle Cruise all underperforming at the box office, and his Netflix release Red Notice being a complete dud, it seems as though The Rock has had a change of heart.

Further details on the context of his scene are being kept under wraps, but it's believed to have been added during reshoots, and will presumably play a major role in setting up the franchise's endgame.

Johnson now joins a massive ensemble cast featuring Vin Diesel (Dominic Toretto), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty Ortiz), Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Ludacris (Tej Parker), Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto), Nathalie Emmanuel (Ramsey), Sung Kang (Han Seoul-Oh), Charlize Theron (Cipher), Jason Statham (Deckard Shaw), John Cena (Jakob Toretto), Jason Momoa (Dante Reyes), Brie Larson (Tess), Alan Ritchson (Aimes), Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood (Little Nobody), Michael Rooker (Buddy), Rita Moreno (Abuelita Toretto), Helen Mirren (Magdalene Shaw), Luis Da Silva Jr. (Diogo), and Leo Abelo Perry (Brian Marcos).

The end of the road begins.

Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast & Furious Saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises, now in its third decade and still going strong with the same core cast and characters as when it began.

Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Aquaman’s Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.

Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry, Black-ish) is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.

Knew this would happen. Their beef was real at first but it quickly became all smoke and mirrors so we can get this "surprise"
Let's get the cgi Paul walker over with already. I know it'll end with Vin dying

@Vigor - it still bugs me they kept Brian alive when still continuing the franchise without recasting. It makes no sense Brian wouldn't be involved in any of the movies. Hell, this new villain being the son of the guy from fast 5 means he should be going after Brian as well as the rest of the gang.

@Vigor - It is real, but Rock's career kinda went to shit in the last couple of years.

I haven’t been able to make it through one of these movies. I tried with 1 and 5. I can’t believe there are going to be 12 of them. And Firefly was cancelled before it got a season. The world is a strange place.

I hate that they spoiled it. The Rock coming back to the F&F movies is bigger than Hugh Jackman's return to Wolverine.

The rock spoiled it cause of that 3 billion lawsuit dominating headlines. He needs this franchise now after the last few months.😂

@AmazingFILMporg - dominating the headlines? Really? Not a single major outlet has picked it up and I had to look it up to see what you were even referring to.

She lists over 100 major names and corporations in the lawsuit from the FBI, to McDonald’s, to Eminem to Michael Jordan.

The fact that a judge even allowed it to go forward, while she had a bench warrant out for her no less, is absolutely insane.

The film is tracking to underperform, it'll be interesting to see if they add yet a third film to this "finale" trilogy.

This film is gonna be huge. 1 billion guaranteed
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 5/13/2023, 11:47 AM
@Blergh - It will be one of the biggest movies of the year, but we are talking about...what, $800M? that is pretty low when you consider what previous movies made...
I saw the trailer, and I legit though it was an SNL skit, with Jason Momoa saying "family" every three words...btw, this and Aquaman 2 in the same year? as much as I hate the idea of him playing Lobo, dude needs to find a new blockbuster franchise FAST (no pun intended).
Blergh
Blergh - 5/13/2023, 12:29 PM
@TheHumanSpider2 - He does have Dune but we'll see how the sequel performs and if they're even going to do the other novels.
I could have seen Momoa as a good Kraven for the MCU, a good barbarian for D&D (if they give that series another chance after flopping at the BO) or as a Klingon on Star Trek.
The guy has a really distinctive look.

Now that I think of it he could be a neat Klingon emperor in Star Trek 4 for Paramount.
TheHumanSpider2
TheHumanSpider2 - 5/13/2023, 4:45 PM
@Blergh - After the Conan remake, I dont think he wants to be nowhere near a barbarian role.
I think he shouldnt go for the obvious, the reason why people love his Aquaman is because it wasnt an obvious choice at all (kudos to Snyder on that), and Lobo is the most obvious thing imaginable, is worse than Margot Robbie as Sue Storm...
We'll see, dude has presence, charisma, and comedic timing, he should be the leading man in another franchise if Aquaman does flop.

Vin be like:

Anyway, I liked Dwayne, but after the shit-show he caused at Warner for the sole glorification of his ego, he deserves this public humilliation...YEARS talking shit about Vin Disel and the franchise, only to have to come back...

No sense in getting mad at something that hasn't happened💁.

It's not tasteless if the brother of Paul walker plays him and the family gives their blessing. The money is going into Paul walker's estate for his wife and kids.💁

Vin diesel to the Rock:

@MCUKnight11 -

It's clear Vin Diesel wasn't the problem when the drama was unfolding.

The way the rock handled himself with black Adam and Shazam situation and the fact that Vin Diesel has a great relationship with everyone on the cast including newcomers Jason mamoa, it's clear the rock was the toxic one.

I think the drama hurt both Fate and F9 with both of them not being as good as five-seven. Besides, I thought it was supposed to be all about family. You suck it up and just go with it for them.

Yup, and that's not to say Vin is perfect. He is hands on with f&f. It's his baby. The director left cause he wanted it drastically different and Vin was like:Nah💁

But they got a new director and universal loved what he did with f10 that they signed him on to do fast 11💪
