INDIANA JONES 5 Producer Assures Fans That Harrison Ford Will Not Be Replaced As Indy

Indiana Jones 5 has been hit by a series of delays, & Harrison Ford certainly isn't getting any younger! Despite that, producer Frank Marshall wants to assure fans that the actor won't be replaced as Indy.

It's been twelve years since Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull disappointed... well, everyone, but a fifth instalment of the franchise remains in the works. It makes sense for Disney to make use of the IP, especially as Indy is a character who can make an impact both in their theme parks and as a big merchandise seller.

Logan director James Mangold is penning the screenplay, while he's also expected to direct. Now, producer Frank Marshall has shared an update with where things stand with Indiana Jones 5.

"Yeah, we are working on the script," he reveals. "There will only be one Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford. What I’m excited about with Jim is a great story. I think you see that in his movies like Ford Vs Ferrari. It’s all about characters and telling a good story. So I’m excited to see what he comes up with. I haven’t seen (the script) yet so I don’t know what to tell you."

Indiana Jones 5 has been through its fair share of writers at this stage, and it was once rumoured that a younger actor might end up taking over the role from Harrison Ford. The actor is nearing 79 now, and is likely to be in his 80s once the movie begins production and arrives in theaters.

There has to be a way to continue the story beyond this fifth chapter, and with a release date of July 29th, 2022 currently set by Disney, it hopefully won't be too much longer until we learn what the plan is.

@Nightwing1015 - I love how this was supposed to be a fun parody but it only shows that the kind of person who gets butthurted about these stuff are the people with the mentality like this old childish fella who used to run(ish) a country (brilliant impersonation btw)
