what i never understood is why they decided to make the first disney/marvel movie on some shitty team no one has ever heard about.

@Brolinite A) they wanted liberty with the characters, B) they wanted something very unique (they kind of made less unique but whatever) and C) I guess they liked something about the characters.

@UltimateHunt guardians of the galaxy was just a marvel film. and the team isnt shitty. it has a talking raccoon who carries a machine gun in it. thats awesome. i see nothing awesome or interesting about big hero 6. alot of people were already wanting marvel to make a GOTG movie way before they announced it. the team had a following and a fanbase.

@Brolinite

alot of ppl werre doubting GOTG because it was unknown characters, and a talking raccoon was a joke to them. yeah now that it came out everyone love it.
who knows maybe big hero six might too, or not...
baymax sounds like a interesting character

A kid transforms into godzilla. I'd say that's pretty cool to start. He turns into something very different in this movie but we're talking about the comics.

I haven't read their comics either but from what I read about them I like it. The main character based the A.I. for the robot on his dead father's personality and they have kind of a father son relationship. That doesn't seem like what this will be which is a shame expecially because it fits very well with the kinds of stuff that Disney does. It could still be a suprise in the movie if at some point you start to see the robot act like a father to him.

@Brolinite The rest of the team has cool powers which Disney seems to have made elss interesting. One of the characters transformed into a ball of energy but in the movie she just has wheels in her suit. Another guy was chef (which I find interesting but the movie hasn't mentioned yet so they might've changed that to) and he creates psichic knives kind of like psylocke but in the movie he just transforms his arms into plama blades which isn't as cool because he can't throw those blades and he can't move in as many cool ways. There was another character that had like a magic bag and she could take anything she wanted from inside it which I don't think would've worked but they just made her create balls that explode in the movie which isn't nearly as good as what they could've done to adapt her powers.

I also wished they made the characters japanese like in the comics cus I liked that. They already made another movie with an all asian cast (actually two since they made Aladdin though that's not what I mean when I say asian).

Plus Lilo and stitch which had almost all hawaian characters so I don't know why they decided not to make the characters asian.

I still think the movie will be cool but I'm disapointed now that I know more about the team.

I spent a day at Disney for Big Hero 6 at the end of last month. Keep an eye out on September 3rd for the coverage. There's LOTS of info about the film; inspiration for the characters, where the film differs from the comics, the relationship between Baymax and Hiro, etc.
