Another New Poster For INCREDIBLES 2 Promises That The Team Is Almost Ready

There are a lot of great looking animated movies on the way this year but most of the hype currently seems to be surrounding Incredibles 2. Now, another poster has been released before the trailer's debut.

Pixar has released a second poster for Incredibles 2 and it continues to tease the long overdue return of the animated superhero team. As you can see, laundry appears to be the (vague) theme of these one-sheets but with the trailer set to debut today, we'll no doubt learn more about the sequel there.

In the movie, Helen is going to receive the spotlight, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of "normal" life at home when a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot that only the Incredibles can overcome together. Character details have been revealed but we still don't know who the big bad is. With any luck, that will change with the release of the first trailer.

That's going to land any hour now but in the meantime, you can check out the teaser poster below.

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible. Directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.

I'm still skeptical about this. I'm not really sure what they can do with this premise that hasn't been explored already in the first movie outside of just being another superhero movie. But then again, Brad Bird did say that he wouldn't make a sequel unless he liked the story, which explains the wait. So guess it's a wait and see for me.

Enough of these teasers for teasers and hype building posters, I'm ready for the trailer now.

Should have done a time jump - most the audience from the first movie are late 20's now. A time Jump would have also given us different aspects to work with and see in the movie rather than repeating everything from the first;

• The parents could have been entering the mid/late 50's, Helen could be having a similar midlife crisis to Bob in the first movie - perhaps meeting with other former heroes. This appeals to the parents who took their kids to see the first movie.

• The kids from the first movie are now mid/late 20's we could see one struggling with life while the other is going to get married or have a family. This appeals to the kids/teens who saw the first movie.

• Jack-Jack would be teenage, enabling us to explore perhaps an anti-hero dynamic with the character. This appeals to those who watched the first movie later, perhaps growing up with the Comic Book Movie genre seeing films like The Dark Knight or Civil War.

@Scarilian - Agreed. It would've given more weight to the sequel to see how time has flown and the results of the years on all of the characters.

@Scarilian - yeah, I almost lost interest when I found out they weren’t doing a time-skip.

@CosmicCipher -

True, though unfortunately that could be ages. To me the Incredibles would work best focusing on the family dynamic - with each film exploring a different type of dysfunctional family and resolving it.

1st Movie;
They are trying to hide who they are, when they open up to each other and to themselves as being Superheroes they get along. Emphasized primarily by Mr Incredible hiding things from his family.

2nd Movie;
They are starting to grow apart and they have to learn to accept this. The parents need to accept that the kids have to find their own path in life. Emphasized primarily by the parents disproving or being unsure of Jack-Jack's methods even though they get results (perhaps like a less violent Batman or less crime fighting and more detective work)

3rd Movie;
They are sort of estranged, they have been living away from each others. The main villain trying to split the family apart by manipulating them, perhaps being a hero who wants to be viewed as the best. Emphasized primarily by Jack-Jack being a successful rival hero who perhaps Dash becomes jealous of.

@TheLight -
Yeah, my hope is the second movie is more of a 'next stage' for the characters, rather than another chapter. I like seeing characters grow and evolve and while they could do that in a direct continuation i think it would be interesting and relate-able for the audience to see a time jump.

Eh. I thought the first poster with the laundry basket was a perfect standalone poster. Now it's kinda played out.
