With Detective Pikachu fast approaching, excitement for the first live-action Pokemon movie is rapidly building and while fans initially assumed the video game adaptation would be a flop, box office tracking is high and there's a huge amount of positivity surrounding this release.

Honestly, it could end up being one of the biggest movies of 2019. Now, an extended TV spot has been released which reveals some fun new snippets of footage and a fresh look at Gengar.

While there are bound to be some surprises in Detective Pikachu, seeing live-action versions of these iconic creatures really isn't getting boring, and it's going to be a lot of fun to what else appears and just how much screentime the fan-favourites receive. The dynamic between Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Kathryn Newton (Supernatural) also looks like a highlight.

Check out the TV spot below and then let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

This film has a ton of potential to start a franchise that will change the shape of cinema. Just hope it does not fall flat on its face.
