Peyton Reed On The Relationship Between ANT-MAN AND THE WASP

Though Reed hasn't been officially announced as returning to helm the sequel to Marvel's most recent blockbuster, from the sounds of things it definitely seems to be a done deal.

Peyton Reed has spoken a little about Ant-Man And The Wasp in the past - even though he still won't confirm that he's on board to direct - and during Walt Disney and Marvel Studios' press event to preview some of the extras available on the upcoming Ant-Man Blu-ray, he was once again quizzed about plans for the sequel.

Reed said that they're just “starting the writing process”, and that the film is still set for a July 2, 2018 release. Now that the rules and environment have been established he hopes to go to some “unexpected places", and looks forward to exploring the central relationship between Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly).

“Part of thing that we’re going to explore, as shown in the comics, is how [the Ant-Man and Wasp] are such a great duo and partnership. Part of that, in any partnership, is how they relate to each other as people. Where will their personal relationship be at that point, and what will be their fighting style together?”

Ant-Man will be released on Blu-ray on December 8. More at the link below.

This franchise has a real retro feel for me. Like someone finally figured out how to crack the pre-2000's comicbook movie formula but make it enjoyable and still fit into a shared universe.

I'm really hungry to see some badass Wasp action.

Loved the movie....the flashback scene of ant man n wasp was one of my fav parts of any CBM....didn't see it coming and wasp looked str8 from the comics...my heart def skipped a beat. My only problem was "killing" off yellowjacket, his suit was bad ass n we didn't get to see it enough.

I only want to see Scott Lang, i dont want another Robert Downey Jr....

Is Pym coming back for the sequel?

Another flashback scene would be cool.... It would be awesome to see a younger Hank and Janet together, with or without the suits

@KurtWagner1225

Hopefully.... I'll try to say this once, haha, because I don't want to get into the habit of repeating it.... But, it really wouldn't feel like an Ant-Man movie to me without Pym

Whenever I hear Ant-Man, I still think Hank Pym, I don't think Scott Lang, same goes for Wasp, to me The Wasp is Janet....

It's sad that the MCU side-stepped Pym like they did, imo.... Pym had so much to offer in the MCU

I'm happy people are enjoying this interpretation though

@KurtWagner1225

Ah, don't get me started, haha....

I don't know if you've read "Avengers Forever", but if Marvel had the rights to Kang, the possibilities would be endless.... and a time traveling Pym would be heavily involved in the story, including Yellowjacket....

I was going to say the same thing as Doom, they should bring back AIM with the beehive suits and everything, Ant Man and Wasp versus AIM minions with high tech gadgets seems like it would be a lot of fun.
