ANT-MAN 4 Is Already Being Discussed According To QUANTUMANIA Producer

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumnia doesn't hit theaters until next week, but producer Stephen Broussard has now confirmed that a fourth movie is being discussed at Marvel Studios...

Could Scott Lang follow Thor by becoming only the second Avenger to headline four solo movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania hasn't even hit theaters yet (it's set for release on the 17th), but it sounds like some ideas for a fourth film are already being discussed by director Peyton Reed, Kevin Feige and the movie's producers.

"We're already thinking about it," Stephen Broussard told ComicBook.com when asked about a potential Quantumania follow-up. "It's like, every movie's [is] its own battle and you bear the scars of making it and wanting to make it great. But hope springs eternal, and you start to put yourself back together after the journey of making the movie. You're like, 'Yeah, what if we did X and what if we did Y?' Like the wheels start turning, you can't help yourself. I don't want to say anything about specifically what those are, but yeah, you can't help yourself. Those conversations, those whispers, have already started to happen between myself and Peyton and Kevin."

While it's highly unlikely that any serious plans are being laid down at this early stage, it is interesting that Broussard and co. seem to have at least some inking of where the story could go next.

Initial social media reactions were shared following Quantumania's world premiere, and while many view the threequel as a strong start for Phase 5 of the MCU, the movie wasn't without its share of detractors.

Check out the most recent teaser below, and be sure to keep an eye out for our review when the embargo lifts.

Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

The sci-fi adventure opens in theaters on Feb. 17, 2023.

I still can't believe we got a trilogy of Ant Man movies... Like wow, look how far we've come in the comic book industry.

@KWilly - and the first movie was called “flavor of the month” by Snyder when Man of Steel couldn’t get a sequel.

@KWilly - We have come a long way. And I remember people at work saying "Ant-Man? Really? They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel now, huh?" And that was back when the first one was coming out.

But let's keep things in perspective here. Yes, Ant-Man has gotten 3 movies. But there are definitely other characters that haven't even gotten a movie yet, like War Machine. It took way too long for a Black Widow movie. Nova. There are plenty others, and while they may not be much more well known than Ant-Man, they still deserve their own flicks, and it probably would have made sense to give them films.

Ant-Man survives Quatumania, confirmed.

@RolandD - Maybe, this could be a passing of the torch type movie. It would give Kang a great introduction if he killed Antman in his own movie

@RolandD - At most I bet Ant-Man, Wasp, and Cassie are stranded in the Quantum Realm while Kang escapes. This gives him an opportunity to start some shit while Ant-Man is helpless to warn anyone.

How about we wait and see how the unreleased 3rd antman movie does first…

@EZBeast - They don't care about that. Thor got sequels after Thor was disliked by almost everyone. They are making a Captain Marvel sequel after all the negative feedback. I won't be surprised if Eternals gets a sequel.

@CorndogBurglar -
They'll get sequels due to box office and/or if they can justify the cost with an excuse such as blaming pandemic box office for the under-performance of films that probably wouldn't have performed well even if people were going the cinema.

At the moment though, it's just another aspect of marketing. It builds the idea that they have a plan moving forward, that they care about the characters.

A lot of the reviews for Ant-Man 3 are mentioning how 'the film does not feel like a conclusion to the trilogy, how it does not function well as a standalone movie and how it'll only be made 'good' when we have later films for context'

This sort of talk about sequels and solo movies is a way of countering that criticism, pretending they care about the characters rather than just using Ant-Man 3 as a vehicle to set-up Kang and Cassie.

@Scarilian - Agreed. And watch, people will say they love it. Despite the fact that one of the biggest complaints about movies like Iron Man 2 is that it spent too much time setting up Avengers and not enough time being an Iron Man movie.

@CorndogBurglar - Right. I mean Captain Marvel only made 1.1 billion with a fresh RT score. Why would they make a sequel?

First Ant-Man movie I'm actually excited about. The tonal shift and exploration of the quantum realm looks like it only helped.

I say more is better when something is good.

If anyone had suggested 7 years ago that we would get 3 Ant-Man & 3 GoTG movies, we would have thought they were nuts.

Feige still knows exactly what he is doing.

So let's see. Ant-Man sequel being discussed.

Solo movie for Wasp being discussed.

They aren't going to get rid of Cassie.

I stick with my prediction. Janet dies saving Scott and Hope

@TyrantBossMedia - Nah. I think Ant-Man, Wasp, and Cassie end up stranded in the Quantum Realm while Kang escapes. This way he can start wreaking havoc and Ant-Man can't warn anyone about what's coming.

@TyrantBossMedia -
Honestly, it's all BS at the moment. They want to try and pretend that this is a franchise they'd be continuing with and building upon because they want to make it seem like it's actually important now that it's required viewing to understand Phase 5/6 and Kang.

If they fail to get people to watch this movie, they stand little chance at getting them invested in Kang Dynasty which will have variants of Kang. All this talk of sequels, solo movies, etc... it's all pandering to try and pretend this film is heavily important to the Ant-Family.

My prediction:
• Kang kills Hank
• Janet sacrifices herself to save Hope
• Scott & Hope stay trapped in the Quantum Realm to delay/trap Kang with them while Cassie escapes/survives

Kang Dynasty that way can just be focused on the newer heroes such as She-Hulk, Yelena Belova, Ms.Marvel, Kate Bishop, Shang Chi, Cassie, Skaar, etc... Realistically they won't use the older characters until the sequel.

Wouldn't it be an Ant-Man and the Wasp 3 though?

Anyway, did never even expect Ant-Man to get a trilogy. Same goes with Thor though, didn't expect him to make it to a fourth movie either.

Post Secret Wars. Hank and Janet. Young, modern day. Potential founding Avengers.
