ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Concept Art Gives Scott Lang A Redesigned "Quantum Costume"

New concept art from Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania gives Scott Lang some very different Quantum suits (inspired by Jack Kirby!) that are a major improvement over the threequel's nano-tech efforts...

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is only Marvel Studios' second "Rotten" movie, and the poor reception to Peyton Reed's threequel has seemingly prompted a change in approach to how they'll tell stories during the Multiverse Saga.

Former Disney CEO Bob Chapek was all about quantity, particularly as he looked to get as much content as possible on Disney+. The returning Bob Iger, however, is focusing on quality and recently suggested Marvel Studios will now focus less on third and fourth movies for characters, prioritising new characters and franchises instead.

The latest Ant-Man adventure could have done with a little more originality, making it all the more disappointing that we didn't get to see these new costumes!

Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development Andy Park has shared his designs for Quantum suits Scott Lang would have donned after arriving in the Quantum Realm. With some clear Jack Kirby inspiration, they're a refreshing change of pace, and an improvement over the familiar (and, unfortunately, nano-tech) costumes we saw in theaters last month.

Earlier this week, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania passed $200 million at the North American box office after 26 days of release. While some have written the threequel off as a flop, it took Ant-Man and The Wasp 36 days to hit that mark!

While Ant-Man 4 seems unlikely, we do expect the franchise's characters to return in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

"Despite being an example of why a movie shouldn’t be shot almost entirely in The Volume," we explained in our review of the movie, "every time Jonathan Majors steps on screen as Kang, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is an epic tale to astonish and a monumental chapter in the Multiverse Saga."

Check out this newly released Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania concept art below.

I like it. Just needs slimming down a bit.

He looks like he's been eating too many cheeseburgers.

On a serious note, I hate how the suit is so over-designed with all those lines.

The beauty is in it's simplicity

@ComicBookPsycho - I agree. And that goes for a lot of MCU costumes. They all have those lines.

And what's even worse, it's all nanotech these days. That original suits still feels the most authentic of all Ant-Man suits

@bkmeijer1 @ComicBookPsycho I'm with you guys. The great thing on the original suit was that Pym isn't Tony Stark. His particles are the feat. Suit should be simple and retro as in AM1.

Ooh that actually does look pretty cool. Feel like they could achieve a similar effect of having the lower half of the face exposed by simply having the lower portion of the helmet open and close depending on whether or not it needs to be sealed i.e. it stays open when the wearer is in a breathable atmosphere, and closes in situations where the user would need assistance breathing such as shrinking in the regular universe because the air molecules would be the wrong size or whatever the explanation was in the first movie (obviously once they shrink to the point that they enter the microverse within the Quantum Realm it has its own atmosphere that they can breathe in again as seen in Quantumania)

Gotta say the point I really disliked in this film (and in the previous too) is how regular humans can survive in the quantum realm with no masks/suits on.

I mean, how are they breathing since they're smaller than oxygen molecules? I can get the QR people/beings being different, but regular-sized ones shouldn't live in miniature worlds so easily.

When I first saw the Ant-Man helmet I thought they were being conscious of that. Looks like I was wrong.
