ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Nears ETERNALS On RT But Audience Score Tells Different Story

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania reviews are still being counted, but as the blockbuster nears Eternals' 48%, the score from moviegoers appears to tell a very different story. Read on for details...

Reviews for Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania have been surprisingly negative, and it definitely feels like critics have stopped being so forgiving when it comes to the MCU's flaws. 2021's Eternals was Marvel Studios' first "Rotten" movie, but Peyton Reed's threequel now looks set to be the second.

As we write this, it has a score of 49% based on 226 reviews. While we anticipate roughly 100 or so more verdicts being added to the review aggregator in the coming days, it will be nigh on impossible for the latest Ant-Man movie to escape the dreaded green splat.

However, the Audience Score appears to tell a very different story.

That currently sits at 84% and would be more than enough to grant Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania "Certified Fresh" status if regular moviegoers were the ones deciding.

Eternals, for example, received a 47% score from critics but also boasts a much higher 77% Audience Score. This once again shows that there's a divide between what fans and critics think, and is a strong indication good word-of-mouth will help the threequel overcome negative reviews at the box office this weekend (the MCU remains largely critic-proof).

In our review, we concluded by saying: "Despite being an example of why a movie shouldn’t be shot almost entirely in The Volume, every time Jonathan Majors steps on screen as Kang, Ant-Man and The Wasp is an epic tale to astonish and a monumental chapter in the Multiverse Saga."

In Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is now playing in theaters.

The audience doesn't care as long as they're entertained, and for the most part that works. Someone like me who can't stand the script, plot, editing and music are the other side of the coin. 31 movies in 15 years lol

@bobevanz - that and also how does time even work in Quantumania?? Scott was stuck there for what felt like five hours to him but he was gone for five years. I’m sure this was longer than that but it looks like they didn’t miss more than a few days in the real world lol

Seeing it in 4 hours.

I am hyped about seeing Kang the most, so I am happy everyone is praising Majors' performance in the film. And my boy MODOK.

Comic book movie Frqnchises are too hype to fail

Wonder woman 1984 was a total disaster but no one cared

after they announce Wonder woman 3

people once again were hyped for a Wonder Woman movie

At least with Ant-man and the Wasp Quantumania

We got a bad ass villain to look forward to in

Kang the Conqueror

Eternals is much, much better movie, but Eternals also has cultural diversity and LGBTQ+ representation, so a lower audience score was always a given.
