ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Sets Digital And Blu-Ray Release Dates

Still no word on its Disney+ debut, but Digital and Blu-ray release dates for Marvel Studios' Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania have reportedly been revealed...

After a disappointing theatrical run, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to hit Digital platforms later this month, before arriving on DVD and Blu-ray a few weeks later.

Marvel Studios hasn't confirmed yet, but Amit Chaudhari - who regularly shares home release dates prior to official announcements - is reporting that Peyton Reed's divisive MCU threequel will be available Digital from April 18, and Blu-ray a few weeks later on May 16.

No Disney+ date, but most MCU movies tend to debut on the streaming service on or around their Digital release.

After a strong opening weekend, Quantumania suffered a massive drop which it never managed to recover from, and finished its box office run with the lowest global total of the franchise. Mixed-negative reviews and poor word-of-mouth didn't help matters, but the movie does have its defenders, so maybe it will find a new lease of life on Blu-ray.

A fourth solo Ant-Man adventure was reportedly being discussed prior to Quantumania's release, but we'd say the chances of another instalment being greenlit have significantly decreased.

What did you make of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania? Do you plan on picking it up on Blu-ray?

In Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Super-Hero partners Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Scott’s daughter Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton), the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible.

Directed by Peyton Reed and produced by Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania also stars Jonathan Majors as Kang, David Dastmalchian as Veb, Katy O'Brian as Jentorra, William Jackson Harper as Quaz and Bill Murray as Lord Krylar.

Guess it'll be on Disney+ April 28th the latest, as that is the last week before the next MCU movie hits the big screen. There's probably zero connective tissue, but I'd imagine Marvel Studios wants people to keep up with the movies in order.

Also, is there a reason digital and physical release aren't on the same day?

@bkmeijer1 - To drum up more sales. People that can't wait for the physical copy will buy a digital copy. For completist, they'll also buy the physical/steelbook as well. The physical usually comes with a digital code, so it doesn't work the other way.

This movie really isn’t that bad. Remember Thor: The Dark World or Loe & Thunder?!

@SuperBatCap1 - Thor:The Dark World is better than Thor:Love And Thunder.

Despite the movie being flawed. The fight scene with the Ant family against Kang was well done. I loved how they tried everything to beat him up and it wouldn't work. Scott resorted to using Giant Man attacks and Kang still has the upper hand.

Still haven’t seen it, I’ll just buy it on digital when it drops. Cheaper than tickets would have been plus it’ll keep my complete collection going lol

The overreaction to this film is entirely eye-rolling. It was a decent film. Should have been better....but still not NEARKY as bad as the dramatic criticisms say. Thor 2 was still worse. Hell...Thor 4 was worse.
