ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Special Features Revealed...But We're Only Getting TWO Deleted Scenes

Marvel Studios has officially announced the Digital and Blu-ray release of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and while we're getting 2 hours of special features, there are only a couple of deleted scenes.

This news leaked online a couple of days ago, but Disney and Marvel Studios have now confirmed that Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania will be available to buy at Digital retailers on April 18 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on May 16.

There's going to be over 2 hours of exclusive bonus content, including deleted scenes, a gag reel, and audio commentary by director Peyton Reed and writer Jeff Loveness.

Here's a full list of what to expect from the release:

Bonus Features

  • Gag Reel - Take a look at some of the fun outtakes on set with the cast and crew of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
  • Audio Commentary - Watch the film with audio commentary by director Peyton Reed and writer Jeff Loveness.

Featurettes

  • All in the Family – Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly and Michelle Pfeiffer discuss the complex layers and secrets – yet incredibly strong bond of this heroic family.
  • Formidable Foes – Discover how Jonathan Majors, Bill Murray and Corey Stoll bring gravitas to the villains of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.  Learn more about how Kang brings a Thanos-level threat to this adventure and the larger MCU.

That sounds great, but we are a little disappointed with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania's deleted scenes.

Despite talk of an extended origin for Kang the Conqueror, an alternate ending (the one we saw in theaters was reshot a month or so before the threequel's release), and plans for Hope Van Dyne to have a son, this is all we're getting...

Deleted Scenes

  • Drink The Ooze – Upon entering the Quantum Realm, Scott Lang nervously drinks the ooze.
  • I Have Holes – Veb expresses great excitement when he discovers he finally has holes.

We're excited to see more of David Dastmalchian's Veb, but oof, that's undeniably underwhelming.

Those don't even sound like deleted scenes. We had the "Scott drinks ooze" scene and the "talking about holes" scene.

This just sounds like alternate improv takes they decided not to go with.

So instead of getting interesting lore drops that were cut for time, we're getting rejected improv scenes in a movie where counting holes was considered so funny it ended up as a somewhat recurring joke.

Oh joy.

These sound dumb. Why even include them at all…

Whenever I see a movie being hyped for 2 hours+ of special features, I have to give a serious side eye because most of that is simply the director's commentary track and not actual new BTS stuff. I remember watching the Iron Man 2 special features and that had literally hours of BTS content but that was before the Disney purchase. Disney has always been scrimpy on special features the major reason for collecting physical media.

Say what you will but the suits were excellent in the film. Ant Man, Wasp, and Kang had great designs.

@grif - The deleted scenes for the Star Wars prequels were pretty good because Lucas had the special effects finished off.

You can tell a movie sucks when the deleted scenes suck too

Will it have a video of Majors going full on Ray Rice?

Looks like I’ll be saving money since it’s 2 deleted scenes of a movie that was a one and done watch for me. Disappointment saves me money.
