Following last night's news that Jonathan Majors has been dropped by his manager and PR team, we're now hearing that the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star has parted ways with several upcoming projects, as "wariness" about working with the actor grows in Hollywood.
According to Deadline, Majors is no longer attached to Protagonist Pictures’ feature adaptation of the Walter Mosley novel, The Man in My Basement, a high-profile ad campaign for the Texas Rangers MLB team, and an unannounced Fifth Estate Otis Redding biopic.
He is reportedly still set to star in Spike Lee's Da Understudy for Amazon, and to play Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate’s 48 Hours in Vegas. As of right now, he is also set to reprise the role of Kang in the MCU, but at this point, there is no way some kind of "discussions" relating to Majors' future with Marvel Studios haven't taken place.
Just in case you're unaware of what went down, Majors was arrested a few weeks ago in New York after allegedly physically assaulting a woman in her 30s (believed to be his girlfriend). The actor's lawyer claimed that her client was "completely innocent, and "probably the victim," promising to present evidence that would clear him of any criminal wrongdoing.
Said evidence - a series of text messages - only ended up casting Majors in a worse light for many people, as his alleged victim claimed that their fight was her fault for grabbing his phone.
Majors has already filmed his scenes for the second season of Loki, but isn't scheduled to begin shooting Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for "quite some time."
Unless some more information comes to light about what happened - and his lawyer doesn't end up framing it to make him look even guiltier - things don't look too good for Majors' career right now, and we'd be shocked if Marvel Studios' didn't take action eventually.
