Jonathan Majors was back in court today for one of his final pre-trial hearings, and despite the actor's legal team making every effort to get the assault charges against him dismissed, Judge Michael Gaffey rejected the defense’s motion, paving the way for a trial.

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Qauntumania and Loki star was arrested in New York on March 25 when police responded to a 911 call. A 30-year-old woman, since named as then-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, alleged that she had been assaulted by Majors, with police noting that she had sustained minor injuries.

Majors later filed a cross-complaint against Jabbari, alleging that she attacked him, but prosecutors on the case have informed police and defense that they will not be prosecuting Jabbari in relation to the incident.

Last night, Variety published details from a 115-page filing which alleges that Majors’ legal team "leaked and misrepresented court evidence, as well as attempted to have police create a wanted poster with Jabbari’s photo," among other things. It also provided a more in-depth account of what is believed to have occurred back in March.

Majors is said to have become very aggressive after Jabbari saw a suspicious text and grabbed his phone while they were taking a private car service from a Brooklyn party to their Chelsea apartment. He is alleged to have "grabbed the right side of Ms. Jabbari’s body and pried Ms. Jabbari’s right middle finger off the phone, causing bruising, swelling, and substantial pain." The filing then claims that Majors "grabbed Ms. Jabbari’s arm and right hand and proceeded to twist Ms. Jabbari’s forearm, causing substantial pain to her finger and arm. The defendant then struck Ms. Jabbari’s right ear, causing a laceration to the back of her ear and substantial pain."

Majors is then said to have exited the vehicle, but when Jabbari followed, he allegedly "picked her up, and threw her back inside … [she] sustained substantial pain, including a fractured finger, bruising about her body, a laceration behind her right ear, and a bump on her head."

Majors has already been dropped from several high-profile projects, as well as his management company, Entertainment 360, and public relations team, The Lede Company. Marvel Studios has yet to take any action or comment on the situation, but that is likely to change, depending on the outcome of this trial.

There are rumors that Kevin Feige and co. might be looking into potential Kang replacements, but Majors featured prominently in the most recent episode of Loki, and is expected to stick around for the remainder of the season. Kang has also been positioned as the primary villain of the next Avengers movie (and potentially the next phase of the MCU), but again, that could all change very quickly.

Basically just repeating yesterday’s article.

If he’s found not guilty will give him the same amount of press?

@Fogs - I thought he was bad. Everyone else is taking their acting somewhat seriously and he is doing a damn cartoon performance; it was sticking out in a bad way. He's trying to make his variants so different that they don't feel like real people; he is hamming it up way too much.

I love how people are spelling the end for him. Have you not learned with Johnny Depp?
Usernametaken
Usernametaken - 10/25/2023, 12:53 PM
@SonOfAGif - Widely different cases.

Depp was already a lot of trouble to work with before the Amber Heard accusations. Studios and directors were putting up with him because he was still a big name that sold tickets. When Heard's claim were printed, studios knew that there was no more reason to keep him.
Depp then got he's public dignity back by suing the magazine and Heard, but that doesn't fix the damage he has done to his working reputation, that will take more time and him getting help.

@SonOfAGif - Johnny Depp was never arrested and had people backing him up. If fact police never saw injuries.

not saying Majors is automatically but he was arrested and there were reports of injuries.

Plus seriously Majors has got to have the dumbest legal team in history, people still remember the text that scream "Its my fault for upsetting him."

Depp had a lot of support from his exes, police, security, bistandards

Others have come out saying Majors is a piece of shit

Origame - 10/25/2023, 1:15 PM
@SonOfAGif - except Depp never even went to trial. His case was purely he said/she said and we crucified his career over it.

But there's enough evidence majors did assault her. Enough that it will go to trial. Yet he is still on as Kang and people like you are defending him.
SauronthePower
SauronthePower - 10/25/2023, 1:50 PM
@Usernametaken - I would add that Depp’s penchant for eccentric extravagance kinda tainted his perception in the public eye (buying a private island, buying his 6 immediate neighbors’ properties to buffer out the paparazzi) and had people salivating to get him.

Majors is far more pf an unknown commodity and therefore far more expendable
EgoEgor
EgoEgor - 10/25/2023, 2:22 PM
@SonOfAGif - Wasn't the Depp trial a civil trial? This is a criminal trial.
Usernametaken
Usernametaken - 10/25/2023, 3:00 PM
@SauronthePower - It's easy to judge from the outside, honestly none of us can imagine what we would become if that amount of money and fame came to us.

I've been working in some high profile circles, nothing close to Depp's life, and already it was more than I could bear. When you spend too much time with despicable people, you slowly become one of them, even without realizing it.
