LOKI's Jonathan Majors Teases ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Role And Reveals Kang Phone Wallpaper

Loki star Jonathan Majors dropped a few hints about his Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania role during a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, revealing his Kang the Conqueror cell phone wallpaper...

Loki introduced us to He Who Remains, a Kang the Conqueror Variant who had managed to establish control over the entire Multiverse. He's now dead and gone thanks to Sylvie, but Jonathan Majors will return as another version of the character in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Majors was asked about his MCU future and...well, he didn't exactly give a whole lot away.

While he said it was "true" that Kang could be on the same level as Thanos and that playing a "supervillain" is, in fact, more fun, the actor would only say "we'll see" when asked if he'll be the one to squash Ant-Man in the upcoming threequel. He noted that "[he's] read the [whole] script," and refused to divulge any spoilers.

"It's worse than that because there's no conversation...no one says anything to you," the actor said of Marvel Studios' secrecy. "You just go, 'Don't say sh*t. Don't say nothing. Ever. ever.' I've called my publicist so many times and be like 'I think I said...can you back that up? Yeah, it's okay, it's okay.'"

Recently, a waitress who served Majors in a restaurant in London claimed that his cell phone wallpaper was a picture of the actor suited up as Kang. The reality, however, is that it's just a comic book panel he uses "for inspiration." You can see that, and hear more from the MCU's newest big bad, below.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is set to be released on February 17, 2023.

I mean, it was established that he who remains manipulated things so Thanos could even do what he did. And the other versions of Kang was something even he who remains feared. So I'd say Kang is definitely well above Thanos in terms of being a threat and power level.

@Origame - I don't know about that. He may be a bigger threat simply because he knows far more than Thanos. But I don't know that I'd say he was a bigger threat than Thanos, power level wise. At least not Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet.

Kang can manipulate time, but Thanos could manipulate all of reality. Time manipulation was just one of Thanos' abilities. I would be willing to bet that Thanos could have done everything Kang can do, if he knew about all the multiple timelines and had the knowledge that Kang/He Who Remains had. And he could probably do it easier, because with the time stone he can manipulate time just by thinking about it.

@CorndogBurglar - Kang was capable of rendering the infinity stones inert. Not to mention he could get his own versions of the stones themselves, while also knowing every possible move Thanos will do.

@Origame - Saying that he manipulated things so Thanos could do what he did is a bit of a stretch. What Thanos did simply had no implication on the creation of a Kang variant other than He Who Remains, so He Who Remains had no reason to stop Thanos from doing what he did. But if he did, whether or not he can stop Thanos is another question. I would think he can, but not so easily.

@Fares - I mean, if he wanted the timeline to do so, he could make it so Thanos had zero power. Regardless of what happened and why, that's all that matters in terms of their threat levels and power. And he most definitely could.

@Origame - Agreed. But I think the interesting part is how easily can he stop a being with the infinity stones, whether it's Thanos or not. As long as one timeline exists there will be atleast one set of infinity stones since they're an essential aspect of existence. Sure if they can create an inhibiting zone like the TVA to lure the enemy inside it he'll have high chances, but other than that, I wouldn't say it's a close call.

@Fares - I mean, the tva can render the stones inert, and get then from other timelines. That and he's gonna know every move Thanos does.

@CorndogBurglar @Origame - My understanding was that Thanos could manipulate a reality with that reality's stones in that branch universe. Kang was manipulating the whole thing. Much like how he toyed with Loki's in the finale. Kang has more power, and that's not even Kang technically.

@The1st - exactly.

@Origame - it seems Kang is just a regular earth dude from the future... remove his electronic toys and he starts to lose his supervillain edge... then all he has is infinite knowledge of what is to occur... but that also depends on "when" in his timeline you interact with him. Get him before he gets that knowledge and he is a dead man.

@JonC - 1) you can say that about Iron man.

2) well the only instance he's at the end is when he's with sylvie.

It would be pretty cool if it actually is Kang in Quantumania, but it feels like a variant would be more appropriate, leaving Kang himself for the next Avengers movie.

@WeaponXCII - same. I'm kinda expecting Immortus just chilling somewhere in the Quantum Realm
