AVENGERS: ENDGAME - Everything We Learned From The Glowing Social Media Reactions

Late last night/early this morning, critics finally began to share their thoughts on Avengers: Endgame and it definitely appears as if Marvel Studios has another critical and commercial hit on the way.

We'll have to wait and see on that front (the review embargo lifts this afternoon), but for now, we're delving into everything we learned from those first reactions. It goes without saying that story details have (thankfully) not been revealed, but there are some very interesting hints about what's to come and they're sure to get you even more psyched.

The biggest take away, however, may be that you'll need to take a box of tissues!

So, to check out this breakdown of reveals, all you guys have to do is hit the "View List" button below. Be sure to check back here later for a roundup of reviews as well as one of our own.

There Are No Post-Credits Scenes...Yet

Now that so many critics and invited guests have seen Avengers: Endgame, it's inevitable that spoilers will start finding their way online over the next few days. However, in a bid to protect at least some of the movie's secrets, Marvel Studios chose not to include any post-credits scenes during last night's screening and instead cut them off for a cast speech.

This must be an indication that the mid and after-credits scenes contain some huge reveals that the Russo Brothers would prefer to stay offline for as long as possible (it won't be easy seeing as the movie arrives in the UK and a number of other countries tomorrow night).

The question is, what could be so secretive about them? Well, we may get an X-Men or Fantastic Four tease - which seems somewhat unlikely if we're being honest - or an epilogue of sorts which has major ramifications for both the events of this film and whatever comes next. I guess we'll have to wait and see but there's not long to go until we find out!

It's Not The Movie You're Expecting

If there's one prevailing opinion among those who saw the movie last night, it's that it won't be what any of us are expecting. One critic goes so far as to say that none of the theories which have done the rounds will have prepared you for what's to come, while it's also said that 90% of the footage in the trailers actually comes from the first fifteen minutes!

"You’ll learn more about the other movies while this one unfolds," Fandango's Erik Davis teases before adding, "Do not go in expecting Infinity War part two. The two films are so different, yet compliment each other in all the best ways. In terms of which MCU movie to watch beforehand... honestly, all of them." Alas, we don't really have time for that now.

These comments don't necessarily confirm those time-travel theories but it does appear as if the legacy of the MCU will be explored in a big way over the course of this epic finale.

It May Leave You An Emotional Wreck

It's no secret that social media reactions tend to be a little over the top and some critics seem unable to keep themselves under control when they talk about a movie like this being the best ever or an experience which is similar to some sort of religious awakening!

However, pretty much everyone says they were in tears on a number of occasions and while no context was provided, it definitely seems like Avengers: Endgame will take us on an emotional rollercoaster which definitely differentiates it from the Marvel movies that have preceded it.

Does that mean some of the characters we love are going to die? Time will tell on that front.

It Delivers An Epic, Satisfying Ending

With Avengers: Endgame billed as an epic conclusion to over a decade's worth of stories, the thing most fans are wondering is whether it manages to live up to that promise and actually deliver an ending which will leave moviegoers feeling fully satisfied.

Well, it thankfully appears as if Marvel Studios has exceeded all of our expectations.

One critic describes it as "an EPIC ending to the Infinity Saga" and another promises that, "If Infinity War is the brawn, Endgame is the brains. And wow, what an ending!" In other words, it seems as if Robert Downey Jr.'s comments about those final eight minutes being among the MCU's best were accurate.

You Won't Be Disappointed

So, it's a satisfying conclusion but does the movie itself deliver? Well, not a single critic has found anything bad to say thus far and it would be genuinely shocking for Avengers: Endgame to hit Rotten Tomatoes and not be in the high 90s if these early verdicts are any indication.

"It’s the most emotional, most epic, MCU film," Peter Sciretta claims. "A tribute to ten years of this universe and holy shit the great fan service in this movie." That sounds good as does Scott Mantz's remarks which say that, "It’s a *BEAUTIFUL* film! Fun, smart, clever, BRILLIANT! Perfect blend of action, heart & humor! This is as good as it gets! Greatest superhero movie EVER!"

Honestly, Thursday can't get here soon enough and we'll have much more on the movie for you soon. For now, continue reading below to check out more Tweets from a number of critics...

Tomorrow was supposed to be my big day but er...shit got postponed to 25th, so i reckon i'll see the movie with all of you! :P

What do you guys hope to see? I, for one, always wanted something X-Men related, but...heh, it will never happen, and i'm super cool with it.

I wanted a big moment with Thor against Thanos and the way i pictured it...i shit you not, it was basically that IW entrance!!!

Then...this:

I mean, i LOVE Ragnarok, most of you know that, but because of that movie, now i can't have Steve lift Mjolnir. :(
Tecnically everyone could lift the new hammer, so it wouldn't have the same impact.
Not to mention that they never used "Avengers Assemble" so...even if they DO use that in Endgame...it ain't gonna have the same weight...
Too bad Whedon never used it in the first 2 movies...i think he f*cked up there.

Now tbh, there's time travel...right? So they COULD have Mjolnir, but it's a big BIG stretch, i don't see them going that far just please a nerd like me... :P

What do i expect to see?
Obviously all the dead (or at least most of em) will come back to life.
Cap will die, same with Tony, or at least he will retire, and live happily ever after with Pepper and his son...or daughter (!!)
Don't care for Natasha, i know she's going to have her own movie, but maybe it's a prequel so...
Hulk...heh, there's always that issue with his rights and all, but maybe he'll survive.
Thor's gonna live, i'm sure of it.
Chris wants to play Thor for many more movies, not to mention that between Ragnarok and IW there's shit load of stories they could tell with the character. :3
Hawkeye could survive just for the Disney tv series and that's it.
Oh and Thanos won't die.
Could Loki come back to life? I hope so.

"Was feeling pretty smug about making it through #AvengersEndgame without tearing up and then BOOM. Fans will absolutely love all three hours of it. Also the Sydney media crowd is apparently a big fan of [redacted] and cheered wildly when he came on screen??"
Quicksilver returns: CONFIRMED!!!
Just kidding. I'm guessing just like everyone else.
Can't wait.

Was reading some of these reactions

"Masterpiece"
"Best CBM of All Time"
"Beyond Epic"
"Surpasses all Expectation"

I needed to calm my hype down so I went to John Campea's Twitter feed and on cue

"A mediocre first 2 hours that's equal parts cool moments and problematic moments"

lol

There better be absolute silence in the theater. I want to soak up and appreciate every word of this.

The funny thing is that Marvel will probably top the Infinity Saga now that
they have both X-Men and F4 back

Imagine all the possibilities moving forward

@WakandaTech - i cannot Stop running that idea through my mind... the fact that Marvel
Has created this world with what was basically considered the leftovers or scrap from their useable film-able properties... so imagine what they are going to do with the rest of
The gang 😆🤘🏽

Watched Age of Ultron last night. Still a decent movie, didn't change my mostly lukewarm opinion of the movie, still has a few gems of course. One thing it got me real hyped for is seeing the core Avengers together on screen again. Nothing beats that iconography like seeing Cap, Iron Man and Thor standing together on screen. It's been years now since we've had that reunion. Let's [frick]ing go!

@SpideyPuffsMJ - I love Ultron's first scene so much that it almost makes up for the rest of the film. One of the best horror moments in the MCU.

I just want one thing in this movie. Just one thing. I just want Cap to shout Avengers Assemble. That's all I want. Joss Wheadon cucked us in AOU. We better get it now. Come on Russos. You know we all want it.

@Mrcool210 - "Joss Wheadon cucked us"

Yeah but we got the Avengers Assemble line years ago in Buffy. I recently re-watched Angel and Buffy and its so cool how many Avengers references and actors that popped up in those shows long before the MCU existed.

I stayed up late to get these reactions in real time and man was it worth it. I'm on AoU in my rewatch and I had to pause it because the stress of waiting wouldn't let me concentrate.

It was like waiting to see election results come in or something. I was literally holding my breath. They needed to stick the landing on the Infinity Saga, and it looks like they freaking crushed it.

My biggest wonders so far is what happens to Bruce, Thor, and Natasha. Cap is done, Stark either dies or retires. Hawkeye will make it out just fine, considering he’s got a TV show coming up. So it’s really just those three that are the biggest mysteries.

SMH....
Some people are already hating on the overwhelmingly positive reviews.
Can't a movie just be awesome?
