It won't come as a surprise to anyone to learn that
Avengers: Endgame looks set to make a lot of money over the course of its opening weekend, but it appears the highly-anticipated Marvel ensemble may have already amassed close to $140 million before a single screening.
According to Deadline, advance domestic ticket sales for the
Infinity War follow-up are estimated to be north of $120M, and may be as high as $140M. While there's no confirmation that all of those pre-sales are designated for the film's opening weekend, the fact that
Endgame passed the first 24 hour advance tickets sales record set by
Star Wars: The Force Awakens means there's a pretty good chance.
As it stands, the final installment in the Infinity Saga taking in $300 million from US showings alone remains a strong possibility - although some believe the hefty 3-hour run-time may hinder this.
The world premiere for
Endgame takes place tonight in Hollywood, so expect to see (vague) social media reactions soon after. Advance press screenings begin tomorrow.
