Avengers: Endgame is the second highest-grossing movie of all time and loved by fans and critics alike, so something tells us you won't be surprised to learn that it dominated last night's MTV Movie and TV Awards. Picking up a number of big prizes, the Marvel Studios movie was a clear favourite among MTV's audience and held off competition from
Captain Marvel and
Shazam!.
The Brie Larson-led release did get some attention, though, while
Game of Thrones was still crowned this year's best TV show despite a finale which has divided the fanbase since airing.
The MTV Movie and TV Awards are always good fun, especially as they don't take themselves too seriously and tend to reward mainstream blockbusters overlooked by the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes (many fans are convinced that
Avengers: Endgame will receive some nominations next year, but best not to get your hopes up).
