Avengers Endgame: Black Widow theory will blow your mind

SPOILERS: An interesting theory on how Black Widow, post Endgame, is up to. And its not what you think. Unless you do think it.

Hey howdy hey!
Needless to say, SPOILERS AHEAD.  You’ve been warned.

In Endgame, the “leftovers” went back in time to retrieve the Infinity Stones.  Black Widow and Hawkeye went for the Soul Stone.  After a skirmish to determine whose life is saddest and should die, Black Widow kicks it, allowing Hawkeye to get the stone.

But remember just prior, Red Skull explained “a soul for a soul”, meaning a sacrifice in ordee to get the stone.  Black Widow then was the exchanged soul.

So what happens when Captain America brings the stone back?  Other than the awkward meet-up with Red Skull, in theory the stone could only be returned if it was swapped for a soul.  Again in theory, thenmost recent soul would then be returned - Black Widow.

Mind blown, right?  She could have come back and hid away so as not to upend the timeline until it was safe to come home.  So there’s my theory.

Happy trails.

@darthfarley - I would recommend removing "a soulless ginger" from your post. I understand it was meant to be in good fun, but it isn't tolerable speech as it is offensive towards a lot of people.

@ThunderKat - It doesn't bother me. I was just giving him a heads up in case he didn't want his entire post deleted by a mod.

It's a chilly morning, so I'm actually wearing sweatpants today. Considering they were my ex girlfriends, I should probably take your advice.

"After a skirmish to determine whose life is saddest"
Uh, what? That's not what was happening at all.

Also, that's hardly a theory. If I were to buy something in exchange for money, then go home, use it, then take it back. I'm not going to get my money back. She's dead, they definitely made the most out of the stone while they had it.

@Nebula - It is a weird comparison, but I agree Red Skull probably doesn't have a return policy for used products

@MalseMarcel - @Nebula Fair point, but again in theory Cap returned the item before it left the store. Unless Reddy has a very strict no return policy. Should at least get a Stone credit.

''After a skirmish to determine whose life is saddest and should die''

I shouldn't laugh, but I did

Doesn't matter. Everything is a potential alternate or present storyline.
