Avengers: Endgame might just be the most secretive movie of all-time, and while the trailers revealed very little (most of the footage came from the first fifteen minutes or so), they also contained some scenes which failed to make it into the final cut of the superhero ensemble.
Some appear to have been shot specifically for marketing materials, while others have seemingly been cut due to time constraints, reshoots, or for reasons yet to be revealed.
Now, we're taking a look at the scenes from the two full-length trailers, the Big Game TV spot, and that "Special Look" to bring you an in-depth breakdown of moments that weren't in the movie. I've only seen Avengers: Endgame once (so far), so if there are any errors here or you've spotted some scenes which didn't make the final cut, please do let us know in the comments section.

"He Wiped Out 50% Of All Living Creatures"
This scene is clearly from a very early point in the movie, and while it may have been shot specifically for the trailers to bring moviegoers up to speed, I have a feeling that this was supposed to be exposition and a scene that would have more than likely taken place between the remaining Avengers and Captain Marvel.
After all, look closely and you'll notice that she's wearing the same clothes she was in
Captain Marvel's mid-credits scene, so perhaps the Russos were once planning to spend more time introducing Carol Danvers to Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Thor Powers Up
One of the most memorable shots from the trailers, the God of Thunder only looks like this for around the first fifteen minutes and never strikes this pose as we only ever see him inside Thanos' hut while suited up.
I'm not sure if this was taken from a deleted scene in
Avengers: Infinity War or the character wasn't originally set to get fat (I can't imagine that was something added in reshoots, as he has such a large presence... no pun intended) but it stinks of a shot created solely for marketing purposes.
Bruce Banner Mourns The Fallen
While The Avengers do briefly look at some images of the heroes who were dusted by Thanos, this shot of Bruce Banner mourning them is absent, as are the shots of Scott Lang and Shuri.
Clearly, Marvel Studios put this in the trailer because it would a) confirm that Scott has been missing since the events of Ant-Man and The Wasp and b) reveal that Shuri is among the dead.
Tony Stark's Message Home
This is in the movie, but the version in the trailer is quite a bit different. Much of the dialogue is the same but the inflection isn't and it seems that the lines used to promote
Avengers: Endgame are either from a different take or a truncated version shot specifically for the trailer (which is quite common with blockbusters these days).
It's a minor alteration, but one which had to be made to avoid giving too much away in previews.
Avengers Assemble
This scene is indeed in the movie but one key change has been made in this TV spot: the time-travel devices on each of the hero's hands are totally absent.
It's strange that Marvel Studios chose to edit them out, especially as they would have gotten fans talking, and have been featured heavily in merchandise for
Avengers: Endgame (they were also spotted on set and in some official promo art).
Black Widow Takes Aim
This is clearly taken from after the five-year time jump (which is evident from Natasha's hair) and must have been some sort of training montage in the Avengers Compound before Earth's Mightiest Heroes travelled back in time.
Maybe she was preparing to square off with Ronin, or just taking her frustrations out as their mission to stop Thanos years earlier was a complete failure.
Thanos' Armour
I may be wrong about this, but when we head to the Mad Titan's new home, I'm pretty sure this shot of the villain's armour is nowhere to be seen. We do see him walking through the fields picking alien looking vegetables or fruits, but many fans have pointed out from the start that it didn't make much sense for it to be there.
After all, he removed it on Thor's ship at the start of
Avengers: Infinity War and it would have been destroyed when that was, so why and how would he now be using it as a scarecrow of sorts?
The Quinjet Flies Through New York
There's a LEGO set featuring the "Ultimate Quinjet" but the trademark transport of Earth's Mightiest Heroes doesn't really factor into this adventure. Instead, they use the Guardians of the Galaxy's ship (piloted by Rocket before Hawkeye and Black Widow take charge of it) and I don't recall seeing this shot of the heroes flying into New York anywhere in the movie.
Black Widow Sits In The Rain
Considering the fact that Black Widow dies in
Avengers: Endgame, it seems that most of the scenes cut from the movie featured Scarlett Johansson.
This rainy sequence is completely absent from the superhero ensemble, and it now makes a lot more sense for the camera to have spent so much time focusing on this tree and the fact that birds had returned to it after The Hulk used the Stones.
Ronin's Tattoos
The fact that Hawkeye has become Ronin is a huge part of
Avengers: Endgame, and when this shot of Jeremy Renner with a whole tattoo sleeve was revealed, it definitely got fans talking.
After all, it shed some light on what he'd been up to since the events of Infinity War, but perhaps the Russo Brothers decided that revealing that Clint had taken the time to hang out in a tattoo parlour while mourning his family and going on a killing spree might not have been the best idea!
War Machine And Nebula
I'm not sure what they're supposed to be looking at or why Rhodey is staring at Nebula like that, but I don't recall seeing this scene when they made their way to Morag. It could have been a result of reshoots or just a scrapped sequence which, once again, was cut due to time constraints.
Either way, it doesn't appear as if we missed much as it's a pretty standard looking reaction shot.
Captain America's Shield
This was clever. Yet another scene that was in the movie but slightly different on the big screen, Captain America's shield was actually shattered by Thanos by this point and he was staring at what was left of it here.
You shouldn't need us to tell you why Marvel Studios altered that with special effects for the trailers, but this just goes to show that we can never trust what we see in previews!
"Do You Trust Me?"
Considering the fact we saw this scene in set photos and Captain America was wearing his suit from The Avengers, there was a lot of confusion when this TV spot was released as Steve is now shown in his present day costume.
Well, Marvel Studios must have used CGI to alter this entire sequence because Cap doesn't ever wear this suit when he's in the past, and these two have this conversation while Steve is decked out in that ugly costume from 2012.
