Jeremy Renner is currently doing the promotional rounds for Tag, a movie which saw the actor break both of his arms during an on-set mishap. Renner has struggled to cement himself as a leading man in recent years after The Bourne Legacy flopped and Tom Cruise decided to continue on as the face of the Mission: Impossible franchise despite there initially being plans in place for him to take that over.

That's why his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is so important to his career and while Renner didn't mind sitting out Avengers: Infinity War for a larger role in the sequel, some fans weren't quite so happy. "It’s a nice feeling, I suppose," he said of the outpouring of love for Hawkeye. "I think the Russo brothers got way too many death threats. I’m like, 'Wow, dude, that’s intense. I’m sorry,'"

As for what's to come in Avengers 4, Renner obviously refused to get into specifics but did promise that fans have plenty to be excited about. "Everybody’s got to bite their tongue," he said. "But if you like Infinity War, there’s some stuff to come. What I do know is it’s going to be awesome." What do you hope to see from Hawkeye in the currently untitled fourth instalment? @Kman - I know. This is absolutely disgusting. I agree that Hawkeye should have been in the anniversary movie, but nothing gives you the right to send death threats.
Kman
Kman - 6/12/2018, 1:30 PM
@Origame - hard to really take them seriously - it's just weird to think there are people out there that will take their time to do this.

@Kman - Yeah. This exact same thing happened with the teaser trailer for the Devil May Cry reboot. No gameplay, just a teaser. And that was worthy of death threats.

I understand passion and love for a character (and a franchise), but fandoms need to CHILL. It's not the whole fandom per se, it's just a slice of the fandom who goes down to do shit like that, LIKE what are you gonna win doing that? NOTHING you'll just end up looking stupid and it makes the rest of any specific fandom look bad, those who do that need the grow up man seriously.

@WAKANDABATMANFOREVER - Alternatively, you could have had a crush on Linda Cardellini since Freaks and Geeks and refresh her IMDb page every morning because you cherish every frame of cellulose that her lovely image graces.

...I've heard... my friends do that kind of thing... I've heard they do, I mean. Not even my friends, but... like people I had a dream about being friends with once.

In the world we live in now - sending a death threat via the internet is pretty much just like giving the middle finger. It happens so much, it's just become a normal thing.
