AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Has Now Earned More Domestically Than JUSTICE LEAGUE's Worldwide Haul

Avengers: Infinity War is only the fourth movie in history to pass the $2 billion mark globally but its North American haul has now topped what Justice League made during its entire run worldwide...

Avengers: Infinity War has now been in North American theaters for seven weeks and while it doesn't look like the epic superhero ensemble will top Black Panther's incredible $699 million haul, it has now reached $660 million (which, in itself, is a fantastic result). The Russo Brothers helmed release is, in fact, the fourth biggest movie of all-time domestically and it managed to pass Titanic this weekend.

Aside from Black Panther, the other box office juggernauts in front of it are Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936 million) and Avatar ($760 million). It could be a long time until those are topped.

However, with a domestic haul of $660 million, Avengers: Infinity War has topped Justice League's worldwide cume of $657 million. This probably shouldn't come as a surprise considering the fact the Marvel movie beat that number globally within a week of release but Earth's Mightiest Heroes' latest adventure making more in one country than the DC adaptation did in all of them isn't good.

This is unlikely to faze Warner Bros. as the studio is currently going back to the drawing board with the DC Films Universe and Justice League is now very much in its rearview mirror. What do you guys hope comes next for these characters on the big screen? As always, share your thoughts down below.

@DoctorDoomSayer - especially when it inevitably leaks and/or is used on a poster or trailer that (hopefully) every character is in the final fight... If this is the only chance to ever do that I have to hope they went for it...

Will probably be nuts.

Speaking of which, I rewatched Justice League with the family yesterday (they hadn't seen it yet).

It did NOT improve on a second viewing.

Since it does look like it will fall short of Black Panther that fact is amazing and an incredible feat for that film. I mean how many people would have really predicted that going into the year.

Well Infinity War was actually a good film, with a good villain, story and amazingly put together with all the characters that simply fit within the overall screentime.

All I remember from JL was the moustache scandal and the laughingly bad third act with CGI red skies and PS3 graphics Steppenwolf.

I mean...

VS this...

These two films shouldn't even be put together in one sentence.

Still kudos to Whedon for trying to make it lighter and bring some of the Marvel awesomeness. In that regard I liked JL more than BvS.

@kylo0607 - I was always found it a little weird superman had no trouble with steppenwolf, a new god. I hope steppenwolf is not shelved and he gets another chance in a reboot because he is actually good character.

I mean, at this point it's not even a fair comparison to make; the first Avengers movie was the real test.

@EskimoJ - True. However, the adjusted domestic gross of The Avengers ($704 million) is still higher than the worldwide gross of Justice League.
