AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Hi-Res Concept Art Reveals A Totally Different Take On Iron Man's Bleeding Edge Armor

Tony Stark decked himself out in Bleeding Edge tech in Avengers: Infinity War and now a fresh batch of hi-res concept art from the movie shows off some pretty insane new designs for the hero's armour...

Avengers: Infinity War once again put Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark inside a brand new suit of armour but it took a bigger step forward than we could have ever imagined as the hero used nanotechnology to create a suite which would be capable of taking the fight to a villain as formidable as Thanos.

It was but sadly still wasn't quite enough to stop the villain in his tracks as he battled both Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy on his home planet of Titan.

Now, some incredible new hi-res concept art from Avengers: Infinity War has found its way online and it offers up some mind-blowing alternate takes on this Bleeding Edge armour as Iron Man uses a wide array of weapons and turns himself into a juggernaut! So, to take a look, all you guys have to do is click on the "View List" button below for the full gallery.

How badass does this look? Even more futuristic than the version we saw in Avengers: Infinity War, he's packing some cool jet engines on his back and guns which look like they pack a real punch.

A stripped down version of the armour above, it's a little sleeker than what ended up on screen earlier this year and the helmet is definitely a departure from what we've seen in previous films.

The version of the armour which ended up in the movie, most fans embraced this take on the Armoured Avenger and that blaster of his definitely has its fair share of fans since it first debuted.

Some more alternate takes on Iron Man's armour, these all have their good points and any one of them would have looked amazing as they pay homage to the comics in a number of ways.

This gorgeous step by step concept art shows the transformation of Tony Stark into Iron Man as he uses the nanotechnology in his arc reactor to suit up and take the fight to the Mad Titan.

With this piece, it's clear that Iron Man's appearance in the movie was starting to take shape and those swords or blaster shields on his arm are very impressive looking for the most part.

The Iron Juggernaut? It certainly appears as if Marvel considered giving Iron Man a great deal of armour but unless he was just planning to use this to fly through space, it looks too cumbersome.

We saw something similar to this in the movie itself and those huge blasters aren't all that different to what the hero ended up using in the movie and could even end up factoring into Avengers 4

Two more very cool designs for Iron Man's suit, it's clear that Marvel's team of concept artists had to put a lot of thought into how the armour would end up forming around Tony Stark's body.

This artwork obviously depicts the moment that Iron Man managed to find his way inside of Ebony Maw's ship. It's impressive to see how faithfully this was brought to the big screen.

Iron Man used these "boots" to ground himself when he was fighting Thanos and also utilised them as weapons at one point. It was a cool idea and one which can be used in some creative ways.

Why do we keep calling this the Bleeding Edge armor when it's just a live action version of his current armor from the comics?

@BlindWedjat

That’s pretty spot on with IW.

@BlindWedjat - what is name of his current armor but does the bleeding edge the same as the live action one and does the current one the same as the live action one

@zeon00 - If I had to pin it to a comic model it would be a version of Model-Prime.

@BlindWedjat - I cannot overstate how annoying it is that people keep calling this Bleeding Edge. [frick]in hacks, how about you go read a comic before name dropping shit that you have no clue about.

Too much going on. It's getting away from the more simplistic looking armor to more of a transformer or something. Not sure if it's comic book accurate or not but it just seems too busy for me.

@Prime8 - I've never been a huge fan of it either. Its very busy in a way thats overwhelming almost.

I like Iron Man's simple armors. Bleeding Edge is supposed to be the peak lf his armors. He will never exceed beyond this nano tech.

I would've liked his IW armor to be this:

Keep the nano tech but this look is simpler and sleeker. And it still bas a look that shows advancement beyond his usual armors.

@Prime8 - Yea, I came down to comment that I actually prefer the mechanical nature of the earlier suits. The nano tech just makes all the suits seem like magic. Like, what can't they do?

I get that it's a progression and it doesn't really take away from my enjoyment but I have this ever so brief "Oh, come one..." moment

@jmorin - Agreed especially when almost everyone has one. Spidey, Star-Lord, Panther, Iron Man
GhostDog
GhostDog - 11/9/2018, 6:47 AM
@SpideyPuffsMJ - yea when Quill, Peter, and Tony's masks peeled back in the MAW Ship scene, there was almost no differentiation between them. All peeled back the same nanotech way.

I miss Tony's more mech suits. Panther I'm fine with him having this sort of tech. Quill too.

@BlackBeltJones - To be fair, it does show nanotech is the closest they have to peak technology. It shows both wakanda and stark have reach galactic technology levels. Only organic etc etc and eventually cosmic awaits.

@Prime8 - Not really a fan of it either, but since this is probably his last outing, I'm fine them going all out with his armor.

@Prime8 - what bugs me is that tony is just the guy that always shows up with a new suit... and we never see him building the tech and being a genius any more. isn't that what everyone wanted to see parker being, a genius through the tech he designed?
i want the tony that twirls a wrench and comes up with something new again.

The armor was fun for the film, but I much proffer the mechanized robot suit for Iron Man over the nanotech, which is basically magic and can do whatever the writers want.
jmorin
jmorin - 11/9/2018, 6:40 AM
@MrDandy - Ha! I made almost the same comment up above. Even used the word "magic". Glad I'm not alone
GhostDog
GhostDog - 11/9/2018, 6:44 AM
@MrDandy - I don't like the idea of the nanites basically being magic almost. They can form almost anything. If its Wakanda, I get it. They're supremely advanced, way beyond Tony. This armor is as far as Tony can go tech wise. But I always liked that Tony's armors had tangible limits. They looked mechanized. This one reminded me too much of BP's skin tight nano suit. Didn't feel like armor.

I did like that his Bleeding Edge armor was beat to hell to the point where he couldn't regenerate though when fighting Thanos.

I'm fine with the armor forming over him via nanotech but the fact that it can create anything is a turn off.
