AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Star Elizabeth Olsen Hopes Scarlet Witch Will Show Off Less Cleavage In Future

Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch has never dressed as provocatively as her comic book counterpart but the actress is now hoping that things will change and she can get something a little less revealing...

Over the course of her many big screen appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since debuting at the end of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Scarlet Witch's Sokovian accent has started to fade and, well, her tops have gotten a lower too. While that matches her comic book counterpart's habit of wearing skimpy clothing, it's something Elizabeth Olsen is now ready to move on from.

The hero certainly wasn't spilling out of her outfit in Avengers: Infinity War but she looks notably different to some of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's other female characters and it sounds like the actress is understandably ready to ditch the corset and give the hero a new look. "It would just not be a cleavage corset. I like corsets, but I'd like it to be higher," she tells Elle. "Everyone has these things that cover them—Tessa Thompson does, Scarlett does. I would like to cover up a bit."

"It's funny because sometimes I look around and I'm just like 'Wow, I'm the only one who has cleavage,' and that's a constant joke because they haven't really evolved my superhero costume that much," Olsen continues. "But then you look at where it started in the comic books and it was a leotard and a headband so… oh, it's horrible, it’s so horrible. So at least they know that’s not cool."

Changing Scarlet Witch's appearance is something that Olsen is anxious to see happen too because she went on to talk about how Wonder Woman has changed things and the impact that could have on the character. "But then they made Wonder Woman, you know? And that’s what she’s in. I think of the costumes and what we have to wear - it’s more about iconic images, because that's what these movies are. I think that's the goal with the costumes, and it's not representing the average woman."

@Spidervision - Says the actress who went on Jimmy Kimmel with an over the top cleavage revealing dress where she could barely make a movement afraid a nip slip would happen.

@SonOfAGif - yea I agree with her point but what she wore on the red carpet was more revealing then anything she has worn in the movies.

@SonOfAGif - it’s almost like people wear different kinds of outfits for different activities, and when she’s looking to get in a fight she’d prefer a different costume to when she’s being glamorous out on the town.

Crazy.

@Spidervision - it's not even like it would be unrealistic to have her wear on. She is standing next to giant green man, a robot (that she is in love wiht) and a teenager in a skin tight spider suit.

Put her in the Docotr Strange sequel (she deserves to be in a duo film over another ensemble avengers) and make the tiara her "magical object" (like strange cloak).

@Spidervision - So I bought the Road to Infinity War artbook and one of the concept arts had her with a headband. I took a photo and uploaded it. This was what could have been:

@EbonyMaw - well I think that you have the right to wear something like that by choice if you want to, but maybe she see's it as the difference between wearing that for herself, and the costume, which is more worn to cater to the viewer than to make herself happy.

Lol, "it's not representing the average woman?" And Thor is? Or any superhero?

@hierarchy - I think she's just saying that's not what the goal in the comment. She's not saying that comic book characters should represent the average person.
