James Gunn Reportedly Wrote Dialogue For The Guardians Of The Galaxy In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

We know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director James Gunn will receive an executive producer credit on Avengers: Infinity War but it's now been revealed that he wrote dialogue for the movie as well.

During the Easter weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista made an appearance at Awesome Con in Washington, D.C. and talk inevitably turned to Avengers: Infinity War. While the WWE Superstar turned actor couldn't reveal anything about the upcoming Marvel Studios movie, he did confirm that executive producer James Gunn actually wrote lines of dialogue for all of the Guardians.

Bautista didn't get into any specifics beyond that but it makes sense that the filmmaker would be involved in this way, especially as he's said from the start he'd be keeping an eye on the characters.

Throw in the fact that Avengers: Infinity War screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely
are known for more serious affairs like Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Civil War, and you can't blame the Russo Brothers for bringing in Gunn in to make sure the Guardians keep their trademark wit.

This movie is also going to serve as a springboard for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 so it's definitely good to hear this about Gunn's involvement. What do you guys think? Share your thoughts below.

This is old news. Gunn admitted long, long ago he provided dialogue for the Guardians. Yeesh.

Makes sense. Consistency is key.

This makes sense and I'm kind of worried about it. Haven't really dug their dialogue in the trailers.

"Okay, a-holes. Put on your 'mean' faces."

"The plan is good but it sucks so why don't I come up with a plan and it will be great."

I hope it gets better. At least Gamora should have a good arc.

That is so Star Lord it's spot on. I love it, plus Tony's reaction as the smartest guy in the room surrounded by assholes and a kid.

Not a fan of Guardians2 dialogue so much, but I think what we've seen of Infinity War is dialed back but still retains their personalities

Love this, keep the consistency, I would not be surprised if we hear additional directors worked on giving their respective characters their lines.

@Invasion96

The cringe is real. Has me worried. Everything else looks top notch.

The level of collaboration in these movies is unprecedented and I'm all for it. It would be dope if each director got to handle a scene with a character. Gunn imbues his movies with a flavor most others can't duplicate, and most of his efficacy is drawn from the full body, so it'll be interesting to see how he distills that into the few scenes he writes for them

This sounds like a good thing as long as he left the penis and nipple jokes behind.

Only worried about jokes not landing. Gunn I think has done a good job with these characters being likable, and also he can actually be funny if he tries hard enough. That's the problem I think with Vol2: He didn't try hard enough with the humour.

But Gunn knows their voices so if this is true, I like it. Coogler did the same with BP in Civil War.
