New AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Posters May Confirm That The Iron Spider Suit Makes Use Of Bleeding Edge Tech

The newly released Avengers: Infinity War character posters seem to confirm that Spidey's newest suit will make use of the same nanotechnology as his mentor, Iron Man's suit. Details after the jump...

The latest promotional posters seem to confirm speculation that Spider-Man's new "Iron Spider" suit will make use of the same nano-technology that Iron Man is shown to use in much of Avengers: Infinity War's promotional material.

Reddit user V-sm made note that under closer inspection of the Iron Man and Spider-Man character posters, a remarkable similarity can be spotted. The suits appear to be made of the same material; they have the same distinctive Y-shaped texture. That may seem like an insignificant detail, but it’s actually a hint that the Iron Spider costume may be more formidable, interesting and awesome than fans ever expected.

Tony Stark’s new armor is known as the “Bleeding Edge” armor, and it’s actually composed of nanotechnology. That means the armor can change form and shape, in response to Tony's thoughts. The second Infinity War trailer gave us a look at Tony forming a rocket-thruster at his feet, allowing him to pursue Thanos’s Q-ship out of Earth’s atmosphere. Promotional art has also shown us Stark's arm morphed into an enormous launcher. We've seen the suit materialising around Tony, not unlike tech seen in Black Panther, and these instances are probably only the tip of the iceberg.

With the Iron Spider suit appearing to be made of the same material, it lends validity to the case that it will feature Bleeding Edge technology. It will be able to form and reform at will, and Peter will be able to manipulate its appearance and form. The tech will most likely explain the retractable “stingers” that are typically associated with the Iron Spider armor. Perhaps this means a farewell to web-fluid, maybe these changes could even bleed over into the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel. Who knows what else this tech could enable Spidey to do.

What do you think about this tech-rich Spidey suit? Any cool ideas as to what it might be capable of? Here's a hi-res comparison of the posters, check it out for yourself.

For Spider-Man Homecoming 2, Spidey has to rely more on his powers and less on the technology.

Why bother putting the SPOILERS tag if the spoiler is the headline of the article?

@CatholicHoar - Ha, exactly what I was thinking

@CatholicHoar - I don't really think it's a spoiler considering we see the Iron Spider suit in the trailers and it was in Homecoming. The headline is also clearly more speculative. But please, give me a better one and I might change it.

@CatholicHoar - ^ This. Also not much of a spoiler.

Also the nano-tech speculation isn't really the spoiler at hand, it's more other things mentioned in the post.

@Nebula - Don’t worry! In fact, now that I reread my comment I formulated it in a really harsh way. It’s just that I remember that in this site there is a tendency to put the spoilers in the headlines or the pictures. With Infinity War coming, this is the first Marvel film I’ll go spoiler free, so sorry but I’m really cautious of it. I know I should just not get on this site, but I just love it 🤷🏻‍♂️
P.D: I thought this was a Josh article, hence why I was so indignated

@Nebula - I agree with the original poster, why put spoilers in the headline and then mention the specific potential spoiler in the same headline?? Makes no sense

@Nebula - Spiderman's suit potentially being Bleeding Edge is a spoiler I would have liked to avoid but couldn't because of your headline!
