Empire Magazine has recently dropped their 100 Greatest Game of All Time list, and in it many games that ComicBookMovie.com users hold close to their hearts appear. Games such as Duke NukemSonic the HedgehogMass Effect 3, Super Mario Bros., and The Last of Us all made appearances on the list. Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkahm City both earned a spot on the list, and both of which were praised for bringing the Batman experience to life. You can check out the full list below.

Batman: Arkham Asylum (28)
"I'm escorting a just incarcerated Joker into the depths of Arkham Asylum when all of a sudden the lights go out in the elevator. There are choking sounds, the Joker has one of the guards! He's escaped! Wait, no he hasn't, I seized Joker by the throat the second the lights went out. Coz I'm Batman."

"Defeating the Joker at the end was just an epic conclusion to an amazing video game. Hands down my favorite game, no doubt."

"It's the pinnacle of superhero games, not even it's sequel can live up to its standards. Finally, a Batman game that does just to the world's greatest detective. Kevin Conroy is Batman, Mark Hamill is the Joker. Enough said."

"Standing up to try and correct my TV at the first Scarecrow challenge. I was so scared the game was broken."

"Batman's second fear-induced hallucination. The way the corridor gradually turns into crime alley was handled beautifully I still have chills just thinking about it. Rocksteady did a brilliant job of staying true to the character."

"The hallucinogenic, truly disturbing sequences where The Dark Knight is exposed to Scarecrow's fear toxin are among the most memorable moments of this console generation. Unmatched, even with the arrival of Arkham City."

Batman: Arkham City (12)
"Being such a huge Batman fan, it was not the solid gameplay, the immersive story or the wonderful visuals that stood out to me, but the many MANY easter eggs hidden around to find. I remember finding a Man-Bat one in the church steeple myself, I was so proud :)"

"Greatest comic book game ever made. I still remember flying for my first time over the atmospheric landscape of the Gotham slums. The attention to detail was so immense, that I am still playing it to this day."

"I loved the final sequence, I never felt I would honestly want to cry after seeing the Joker breathe his last breath but Mark Hamill's performance made me feel connected to him in a way I never have for any video game villain."

"I remember taking 107 hours to beat the game in NG+ because I acted as if I was actually Batman. Instead of gliding over rooftops, I would walk through the alley-ways. Everything was concise and Batman like!"

"Staying up late into the night, getting to *THAT ENDING* and then the answerphone message playing through the credits.... best gaming moment ever." "Always been a fan of Batman. But this game made me wanna put on a cape and fight crime."

I'm disappointed Crash Bandicoot: Warped isn't on here. That is the best Crash game and one of the best games Naughty Dog has produced.

Arkham City is my favourite game of all time.
Also, isn't it a little soon to declare The Last of Us the greatest game ever?

Halo number 10, bitches! If not for Halo, the console-FPS genre would have died with GoldenEye.

I hate top 100 list like this.

How are they breaking this down? Popularity, influence on the medium, quality, etc etc.

Stuff like this only makes me shrug.

Sorry, @MrBlackjack, but Mass Effect 3 isn't on this list. Which is unfathomable. It is superior to the first two games in every way (tone, story, cutscenes, combat, graphics, characters) except for the last 30 minutes. But I can overlook the underwhelming ending and remember the incredible experience of that game.

Seriously, the first Mass Effect hits the top 30, but Mass Effect 3 doesn't even place? Shit.

@SpiderFraud
I believe people voted for their top 10s and they collated the votes to create the list. I think.

The Last of Us is #1??? It shouldn't even be top 10. I played the game once and never played it again. No replay value. Also, no Halo 2 or 3? Those 2 games lasted years for me and my friends. WE still play Halo 3 custom games to this day. That's what makes a great game.

Well, most of my all time favorites are on that list, I don't care about the order because that's just the opinion of those who made it.

@staypuffed

That would make perfect sense.

Now I get how Last of Us came in 1st, and GTA V is before GTA III.

Man, I miss playing the Zelda games. I'll always regret selling the N64 and the Gamecube.

This is bullshit. Ocarina of Time should of been Number One. The Last of Us is awesome, don't get me wrong, but it ain't got nothing on N64 Zelda.

The greatest consoles of all time are: SNES and N64.

THAT'S IT, THE END.

Anyone who thinks differently is clueless to how to make a terrific game

Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are the ONLY good superhero games. They are PERFECT. Keen as a bean for KNIGHT
