It's 2015 and the new year is starting of with something evil in Arizona! Film maker Eric Lettman has once again teamed up with Occulus Films to create a concept worth following. Not only do they have Aftermath coming this year (Facebook.com/birthofavillain) but now they have begun to bring the Joker back to life in a darker gritttier way. The Padded Room will be the story of the Joker, imprisioned In Arkham after the events of the Nolan film "The Dark Knight" and cover the 7 years leading up to "The Dark Knight Rises."

In this "Fan Film" story we will see the Ledger interpritaion character enter the asylum and witness his transformation into the "Clown Prince Of Crime" creating a new take on the character. During the story Writer/Director Eric Lettman says, "We will be trying to fill in the gap of time between the films to express how we feel this version of the Joker could have been developed to evolve into something more like the crazy, mindlessly insaine, highly intellegent lunatic the Joker is. Unfortunatley Heath Ledger didn't get more time with the character to expand and untill recently,  we didnt think we would see a new take on the Joker for a while."

The padded room will focus on the Jokers time and transformation but will also be an outlet to introduce other famous and established characters from the DC universe in a whole new way. "Oh we have plans. There are going to be some characters and villains that were not even mentioned or hinted at in the Nolan films that we will bring through the Asylum and try to give them that feeling like they do belong and were in that universe the whole time" Some of those characters Eric Lettman is interested in devloping are Harleen Quinzel, Killer Crock, The Riddler, and Two-Face?? "Oh yea, we have a special plan for that guy."

So it seems Eric Lettmans Lex Luthor Film, Rise of Capone and Aftermath are all just the begining for these Arizona filmakers and the Padded Room is being taken as seriously as any project out there. "We are focusing on the first episode now, tightening up our makeup work and looking at our cast preparing for the journey ahead and what we are about to do for comic fans."

What do you think of the Concept/Idea? Would you like to see the Ledger Joker evolve into something more maniacal?  Hit that Thumbs up, Sound off below and let 'em know what you think!

The Padded Room Is Written/Directed by Eric Lettman and stars Eric Lettman as The Joker and                                                                    Matthew Goldring as Dr. Arkham.

Guy does a pretty good Ledger impersonation. Arkham's actor could use some lessons. I'm not too clear on what they mean by "transforming" joker though. Will he lose the whole anarchist angle?

@Nomis -Follow along, you'll have two favorites soon :)

@OmegaBlack13 -He will not "lose it" But we are moving away from it, think Patient J, blended with TDK joker.

@Batmantis -"Literally just the joker from The Dark Knight" Negative my friend, but it starts there. Where it will go is much, much darker.
