Why the fuss over the Catwoman costume?

I always wonder why people complain about things such as costumes in CBMs, after all would the Green Goblin suit transfer well to the big screen. Not at all. Pink boots and a Pink hat would not have worked at all. I also recall a lot of people being excited for Catwoman, Oh Nolan’s version will be amazing etc… Now people are moaning. So let’s think about this realistically.

Now we all know that Nolan’s take on the Batman universe is a realistic one. I for one think the suit looks good; we are also not taking in the fact that the image’s we have seen are mid action. Who’s to say she’s not had her cowl ripped off by Bane or by Batman. There are an infinite number of possibilities. Anyway back to realism, how would a woman climb a building in high heels, I think it would be pretty damn hard to do and especially if she is running on rooftops away from the batman. I’m fairly sure she would fall over so flat heels are the best option. The leather is a very classic Catwoman image she is supposed to be seductive and dangerous. Does she look seductive yes does she look dangerous, well she looks pretty mad in the pictures.

Above is a picture of Julie Newmar… Now what does that look like to you. Because to me it looks exactly like the Anne Hathaway costume but more shiny and with cat ears. What people are also forgetting is that this version of Selina Kyle is supposedly based on the year one version. Where Selina Kyle is a prostitute, what if Catwoman is Kyle’s prostitute persona. It’s possible, some nightwalkers develop multiple personality’s why not Catwoman be one, so theres no need for cat ears. However look at this picture

Anne Hathaway looks to be wearing a latex mask obviously to disguise the stuntwoman, now why would they need to use a mask when they could use a cowl we won’t know until next year.

In conclusion this a small article that points out a few things about Nolan’s version of Catwoman. This could be an early prototype of her suit. But as I say we wont know till next year. So I encourage you to drop the hate and wait and see what Nolan has planned.

if they're filming the movie, and these pictures are clearly taken on-set, then there is no way this is an early prototype.

people need to just stop comlaining about it, it really isn't bad at all. its tight leather, it just doesn't have a cowl. big deal. look at bane, lol.

Looks like Catwoman. Looks badass. Tight clothes is an instant turn-on. What more do people want? Plus those goggles are friggin' cool.

1. Anne Hathaway was a awful choice...the look of her in the costume shows that. Not to mention that she is an awful actress.

2. Catwoman has been done three times in feature film and and the 60's Batman actress was the best. They should have picked a different non-rehased character.

The costume is okay, just not catlike as her namesake characters (really, where are the ears).

I know it is realism, and catears wouldn't go well; than why the hell does Batman have bat ears? Seeing that she could be an ally of Batman in this movie, it seems to make sense for her to be dress up as animal like character similar to what Bats is.

So there is the key complaint here, Catwoman isn't catlike at all; just look similar to Black Widow and Scarlett with no differense to make herself stand out.

I dont care about the suit. HERE IS MY COMPLAINT.

I always defend Nolan, but this pisses me off. I am okay with him creating a realistic world and downgrading Batman's abilities. But this sucks. With Batman being really, really human in the Nolanverse, his "exceptional" feats are great but his skills are not as separated from a non-wealthy, in-shape fighter as they should be. And what did separate Bruce (in Nolanverse) was his absolute expertise in combat gained from his journeys around the World (amongst many more things). I am okay with this.

Riding the Batpod is a skill - like, "Damn that Batpod is bad***. It must be really hard to ride. I am sure only Batman could do that. Must be because of the training he did in and before Batman Begins."

Then ****ing Catwoman, of all people, just hops right on with whatever training she is going to have (what gymnastics, black ops? okay...) and rides the Batpod. Oh yeah Robin, or even Nightwing, is soooo stupid and lame but Catwoman is okay....???? Yeah that makes sense...

@CornDogBurglar I think whoever you are referring to meant " early on in the film prototype"

People saying the suit is AMAZING and PERFECT is just as stupid as people saying this is something that is movie-ruining.

This IS disappointing, it is not what I wanted. But at the same time i'm not about to board the Grif "bring on the reboot" train.

Stop being pessimists, but at the same time Nolanites need to get hop off the dick and start being DC fans. Proclaim your dissapointments proudly. It doesn't make you a hater, it means you want these characters portrayed right.

I said it on the first pic but I'll say it again.

This is deff a prototype. I dont know why people are jumping to the conclusion that this is the final costume. If this was the final product and she was running around calling herself catwoman I would think its dumb because she deff doesnt look like a cat... YET. But Nolans not one to spoil the fun for us so I GUESS WELL HAVE TO SEE THE MOVIE TO FIND OUT!

But either way I think all of us dudes should be happy that Nolan gave us a tight suit instead of an armored up chick. Sex appeal is there so stop crying. Why dont we wait another six months when it's closer to the movie coming out and see if we get the cowl.

Goggles are cool. Probs stole them from Wayne Enterprise. Keep it up Nolan and keep pissing off the fake fans. Us true fans wont cry about the first offical photo 11 months before the film comes out.

From the look of the pic in this article I believe the suit is it. The mask/cowl may change (and that'll make a HUGE difference in the look) but I think ultimately this is it. Nolan is too practical when it comes to this stuff.

Great article! I totally agree... some people want's Bane with SM clothes, luchador mask and tubes, for f.uck sakes! Why the hell she would use pointed cat ears if in the movie she'll play Selina Kyle? Cat-burglar, not catwoman.

I'll be happier if Catwoman does wear the cowl in the movie, so I'm not writing this off just yet. Oh btw, Green Goblin's hat and boots are purple, not pink.

I don't like it because she doesn't look like a cat. That is like having Batman with no ears or cape. It just doesn't work.

Her suit looks fine.
Its her stupid face, red lipstick, huge flowing hair, and dumb goggles that bothers me. I never did like catwoman in the first place, but i had high hopes for a "HUSH" approach.
