Batman v. Superman has been having a rough couple of weeks. It started out strong, but its second week drop was pretty hard, and it’s been continuing to drop pretty hard.

This weekend, the weekend champ was Jungle Book, with 60.8 million. Second place was The Huntsman: Winter’s War with a disappointing 20.08 million. Barbershop: The Next Cut got 10.8 million. Zootopia and The Boss slightly outgrossed Batman v. Superman this weekend, receiving 6.6 and 6.08 million, respectively. Batman v. Superman grossed a measly 5.5 million.

Keep in mind Batman v. Superman was released THREE weeks after Zootopia.

Following the events of Man of Steel, Gotham City-vigilante Batman travels to Metropolis to preemptively combat Superman, while another threat endangers humankind.

Directed by Zack Snyder with a script by Chris Terrio and David Goyer, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Jeese Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Holly Hunter as Senator Finch, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Tao Okamoto as Mercy Graves, and Scoot McNairy and Callan Mulvey in unspecified roles. Erza Miller, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa make cameo appereances as The Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman respectively. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is in theaters now!

What do you think, is the drop significant or am I being paid by Marvel to spread lies about DC? Sound off below!

@CaptainAmerica - So reporting on the news is "hating on it"

Jesus, the insecurity here is strong.

@BatmanHeisenberg - I have nothing to be insecure about, you're trying to stir shit up once again for the [frick]ing fun of it. I did not love this movie but holy shit this is getting old.

@BatmanHeisenberg - while I don't personally care one way orthe other, you gave up the right to claim you were simply reporting the box office numbers with the zootopia line.

It's no secret that Zootopia has had stellar word of mouth in every single market, sometimes increasing from one week to the next one in the same market.

It had the opposite trajectory of BvS. It opened three weeks before it on the domestic market to a mere $75M, comparatively to the $166M of BvS and will end up with a bigger domestic take when all is said and done.

BvS seems to stabilize right now but it's little too late.

@Jazzy4 - It's far too late. It will continue to dwindle. It will drop even more next week. And then Civil War comes out, and it will drop like a ball.

I mean, I get that this film disappointed a lot of people but holy shit, an article about it being in 6th place a month after release? LMFAO
