BLACK ADAM Star Dwayne Johnson Drops A Pretty Big Hint That Superman Will Appear

Though he doesn't come right out and confirm the recent rumors that have been doing the rounds, Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson does drop a pretty big hint that Superman will factor into the movie...

We've been hearing that Superman could finally return for an appearance in Black Adam for quite a while now, but initial reports indicated that it may not be Henry Cavill in the costume. This led to speculation that we might be in for another "faceless" cameo similar to what we saw in both Shazam! and Peacemaker, but recent updates have told a different story.

Though nothing has been officially announced, rumored descriptions of Black Adam's post-credits scene point to Cavill stepping back into the iconic red and blue suit for a face-to-face with the Man in Black. Now, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson himself appears to have dropped a pretty big hint that the Man of Steel will indeed show up.

During an interview with Jakes Takes, Johnson was asked about a potential showdown between Teth Adam and Superman. The actor responded by saying that he "always listens to the fans," and that they created Black Adam to “be the most powerful and unstoppable force on this planet - but he most powerful and unstoppable force in the entire universe has been on the sidelines for too long.”

Johnson isn't flat-out confirming that Supes is going to appear in Black Adam here, of course, but these comments along with everything we've already heard suggest that it is a fairly strong possibility.

"From New Line Cinema, Dwayne Johnson stars in the action adventure Black Adam. The first-ever feature film to explore the story of the DC Super Hero comes to the big screen under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (“Jungle Cruise”). Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods— and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world."

Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge (City on a Hill, One Night in Miami) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (Sex/Life, Rush Hour 3) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (Murder on the Orient Express, The Mummy) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (Voyagers, Trinkets) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (A Million Little Things) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the Mamma Mia! and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.

Black Adam will be released nationwide on 21st October 2022 by Warner Bros. Pictures.

It's coming to the point where Superman is the biggest sell of this Black Adam movie

Black Adam needs Superman far more than Superman needs Black Adam.

@MosquitoFarmer - Apparently not.

@MosquitoFarmer - Not if the rumors are true. That Rock used his mega star powers to get Cavil 5 more Superman films when WB didn't want him anymore. Talk about having a good connection or rich daddy to pay your way into a role.

@mastakilla39 - The point being, they need Superman to show up to sell more tickets, cause the movie doesn’t look exceptional enough otherwise.

I thought that the idea for Black Adam to show up, was for him to change the hierarchy of power in the DC universe. If Superman shows up as well, then the hierarchy of power will change yet again lol.

Idk what will happen, but it would be pretty cool to see Supes face to face with Adam in the past credits. This movies looks good. I’m casually optimistic

While I think it's basically confirmed superman will be in the movie, I think he's referencing black Adam himself. Remember, the plot involves black Adam being in some form of hiding since ancient Egypt. And if the rumors are true, superman will be literally sidelined in this movie.

If Cavill is back, could that save the DCEU or are fanboys just being delusional?

@MCUKnight11 - Every DC movie he's in has been awful, so I'm gonna say no. DC doesn't need saving anyway, but if it did, Cavill ain't the guy to do it. He's not Tom Cruise.

So Superman is selling this film and not Black Adam? Ok.

@GhostDog - You made a great point some time ago about Cavill not being a good actor, and while I like him in other stuff, can't say I entirely disagree with that. To me, it felt more like Snyder casting based on aesthetics more than acting capabilities.
