BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER Producer Addresses Rumors Doctor Doom Will Make MCU Debut In The Sequel

We've been hearing rumblings for months that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever might introduce Doctor Doom, but producer Nate Moore has now confirmed it was never the plan for the villain to appear here...

For months, rumours have persisted that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will feature the MCU debut of Doctor Doom. Given Victor Von Doom's history with T'Challa and Wakanda, it seemed plausible, with many fans theorising that he might even be responsible for the hero's death.

Based on what we've been hearing from this week's world premiere, the MCU isn't going to be facing its Doom quite yet. In fact, it's been said that the villain will actually first appear in Fantastic Four, and Black Panther franchise producer Nate Moore has confirmed we won't see Doctor Doom in this sequel.

"It wasn't, to be quite honest, although I get why," he responded when Phase Zero asked if Doom was ever on the table for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

"He's such a great character and the world of Latveria is so fantastic and Ryan is a fan," Moore continued. "But once we decided Namor was the antagonist, that was always going to be the focus."

In a separate interview, director Ryan Coogler was also asked about Doom, to which he responded: "In this movie? No. I try not to read too much. But yeah, no."

Some social media "scoopers" have been backtracking on past comments about the character by saying Marvel Studios decided to cut the scene. However, that contradicts what we'd heard about something with Doom being shot using a stand-in, so who knows what the truth is here. Like it or not, though, it seems we won't see the Latverian in this movie.

It's a shame, but perhaps for the best. After all, shoehorning Doom in a post-credits scene might not have been the best idea in a sequel that's already establishing a new Black Panther and introducing the likes of Namor the Submariner and Ironheart.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters in November 11.

Disappointed, but can't say I'm surprised. Also, just another example not to drink the Kool-aid from a scooper. They had "leaked" pics of the post credit scene and everything lol

Most scoopers ain't worth shit but Doom appearing in an end-credits scene doesn't make him the focus of the movie.

So maybe they're not telling the whole truth but they ain't exactly lying either...you know

@Doomsday8888 - So you’re suggesting cautious optimism?

@Doomsday8888 - Been noticing some tendency on Josh's articles on smearing twitter and reddit scoopers, despite them revealing whole storylines and even minor details about everything since NWH. They even stated America Chavez craving pizza.

All you have to do is to check reddit, they have BP2 and Quantumania whole stories already plotted for a while now. Just waiting if they'll miss or hit (once again).

@Doomsday8888 - Could see it incorporating a Doombot instead of Doom himself. People get to see the look and get the tease, but no actual Doom intro.

I, of course, have the benefit of hindsight, but maybe a better answer strategically would have been a sort of “We’ll just have to wait and see.” in order to boost the box office even more.

And there’s always the chance, even if it is small, that the stand-in scene was shot for something else, like the Holiday Special being shot on the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 set.

@WeaponXCII - always preferred that to the garfield approach of denying everything despite the truth.

It was more wishful thinking for me, especially after seeing the “concept art” for the scene in question. But it only makes sense to premier Doom in Fantastic 4.

People have seen this movie,it would have leaked if Doctor Doom was in this.

Let's see Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four first.

If these mid writers were smart at sll they’d write it into the storry that dr doom was the one who sent a hit to assassinate black panther.

If he is in, at least they are not basing the entire marketing on a [frick]ing cameo...like that other movie.

You know....he would definitely be great to be a Black Panther villain rather than an F4 villain. I picture Doom to be the equivalent of Blofield from Bond in the MCU. Anytime someone thinks they defeated him, NOPE, just a DOOMBOT.

Which I sure hope Marvel does that for Doom.
